When systems stall, our community doesn’t. More than 3 million people are going to be affected in Texas. 45,000 households, consisting of 87,000 individuals in Travis County will be impacted by the loss of SNAP. (WIC is not currently affected by the loss of funding.)
In 2025, Austin Mutual Aid has fulfilled 430+ direct aid requests, our community supports many more - keeping families fed, housed, and moving. Every act of care—$10 for gas, $25 for groceries, $50 for rent—circulates directly back into our neighborhoods. Give directly. Build Relationships. Build solidarity.

Since July’s floods, Austin Mutual Aid has been supporting flood victims with immediate relief as well as long term support. We’ve also joined the Travis & Wilco County Long-Term Recovery Groups (LTRG) to support these and all future disaster-affected households through recovery, housing, unmet needs, and more. (If you are or know of an organization that should also be involved in this please reach out!)

Join us today for our Benefit Jam fundraiser—a vital boost for flood relief, mutual aid, and support beyond the headlines. This is a great way to find out more, get involved and also join in gathering support for the launch of .artists ATX Artists for Social Impact—a nonprofit dedicated to bridging compassion and creative expression through music, dance, education, and community service in Austin. If you can’t make it our Flood Relief Fund https://givebutter.com/3nheZS?fbclid=PAdGRleAMhJHhleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABp2Pcn__8U-z02aEP79RmX1QKXZO-UW-rHotlTWgJ5woux4jG9ncXEgKOzbEc_aem_Q_U5MlifO-ZLY6_qBnlFJw

⚠️ Flood Watch in Central Texas ⚠️
Heavy rain (2–4 inches, with up to 8 inches possible in places) is expected from Sunday 8/31 noon through Monday 9/1 noon across south-central Texas, including Travis County.

Low-water crossings, creeks, and urban drainage points may flood quickly. Please stay weather aware and check on neighbors, especially those who are digitally excluded and may not receive alerts like our unhoused neighbors and elders.

Stay safe, y’all. 💛

Hey all, here’s the most current alert on flood conditions in our area, including how to stay informed and look out for everyone—especially our neighbors directly in low lying flood areas and those enduring these storms unsheltered.

Multiple grassroots efforts are underway across our city—neighbors helping neighbors and community showing up for community.

This post highlights just one piece of that bigger picture. If you’re able, support where your heart and capacity lead you. Every share, every dollar, every care is how we show up in mutual aid with one another. Please continue to add resources and efforts in the comments below ⬇️

Let’s keep showing up in solidarity- for each other, and especially for those most impacted.

This is community. This is care. This is how we make it through.
