Congratulations to Papi! Papi loves Zilker. He always loves meeting other dogs and never meets a stranger. His favorite part of Zilker is rolling around in the soft grass and giving passerby licks.

Papi will be featured in the 2027 Dogs of Zilker Calendar, will receive a Zilker Bandana and a photo shoot from !

Vydra's Zilker story starts the day she finished her vaccines. Her person was ready to get her out of the apartment, and the park was where she learned to be a dog: how to read other pups, how to play, how to hold her own around well-behaved company.

It worked. Zilker has done a lot for her confidence, and she's ready to get back to it once ACL wraps up and the trails are hers again.

Zilker Park’s Great Lawn has closed to the public as crews begin setting up for the Austin City Limits Music Festival, which will take place Oct. 2-4 and 9-11. The area will be closed temporarily from Sept. 21 through Oct. 18 as crews install and remove festival structures.

Austin City Limits Music Festival is coming, and crews are already setting up in Zilker Park. Here are the road and parking lot closures to plan around.

This week's winner is Handsom Boy Ryder! Ryder didn't have an easy start — he's a rescue who nearly lost his life to a severe case of heartworms. These days, you'll find him doing exactly what a dog who almost didn't get the chance should do: walking every trail in Zilker Park, sniffing everything worth sniffing, and soaking up love from every human and pup who crosses his path.

Ask Ryder what makes Zilker great and he'll tell you it's not the springs or the skyline view — it's the other dogs, and especially the people. Which, honestly, is the same reason the rest of us keep showing up for this park too.

Join Zilker 351 for a morning of hands-on fun and nature discovery. Get your face painted, make seed balls packed with native wildflower seeds that will be planted right here in Zilker Park's meadow, weave a flower crown to wear home, and march in our butterfly parade celebrating the monarch's incredible migration through Austin. There's something for every curious kid, and plenty of grown-up fun too.

The butterflies, with flame-orange wings lined with black veins and borders spotted daintily in white, will begin passing through Central Texas gardens in late September. Soon, Zilker Park will add its first “Monarch Meadow,” an acre of parkland set aside for plants that attract the migrating butterflies."
