September Sponsor Highlight: Mindy East 🌟

We’re excited to spotlight our September sponsor, Mindy East... a familiar face to the NAWBO Austin community and the powerhouse behind Networking School and Speak to Scale. 🤝🎤

With 30+ years of experience in human resources and leadership with brands including Disney, McDonald’s, Gap, and Old Navy, Mindy knows that the relationships you build can shape where your business goes next.

Through Networking School, she helps business owners and professionals stop leaving referrals to chance and learn how to become known, trusted, referred... and remembered. Even better? You can try your first week FREE using the QR code in the graphic. 👀

And for the business owner who knows she has something worth saying from the stage, Mindy’s Speak to Scale program helps you craft a signature talk designed to showcase your expertise and attract qualified leads to your business.

We loved having Mindy share her expertise with us at our August luncheon, and we’re so grateful to have her continued support of the NAWBO Austin community this month. 💜

What if success didn’t have to come at the expense of your wellbeing? 🌿✨

We’re so excited to welcome Ricki Wax to our September luncheon to talk about Integrated Ambition – and what it looks like to build, lead, and achieve without running yourself into the ground along the way.

After 15+ years in Big Tech while building her own business, Ricki knows firsthand how challenging it can be to balance ambition with actually having a LIFE outside of your accomplishments.

She’ll be sharing her own story, along with practical ways to protect your wellbeing, set stronger boundaries, and keep growing without feeling like rest is something you have to earn.

🗓 Wednesday, September 9
📍 Cedar Door, downtown Austin

You hit the number. You closed the quarter. And the first thing you felt wasn't pride, it was relief.

If that sounds familiar, our September luncheon is for you.

Ricki Wax spent 15+ years inside Big Tech and learned firsthand what it costs to win on paper while running on empty. Today she coaches high-achieving women on building success they don't need a vacation from. She's the author of 99 Prompts to Mindfulness & Well-Being, the founder of Empress Retreats, and has been featured in Forbes and Voyage Dallas.

She's joining us September 9 to talk about what changes when you stop treating your wellbeing as the thing you'll get to after the goal.

What we'll dig into:

🌿 The low hum of anxiety high achievers learn to call normal, and how to interrupt it
✨ Why presence sharpens performance instead of competing with it
💼 The boundaries and language to lead without losing yourself along the way

🗓 Wednesday, September 9
🕚 11:15 AM to 1:30 PM
📍 Cedar Door Patio Bar & Grill, downtown Austin
🎟 Registration includes lunch. We often sell out, so grab your seat early: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/nawbo-austin-monthly-luncheon-meeting-september-2026-tickets-1997635012096

Heather Emerson joined NAWBO as a member. Then she stepped into leadership, and that changed everything.

Deeper relationships with her peers.

A real education in the legislative issues that affect business owners every day.

And the kind of pride that comes from work that matters.

Heather is the CEO of Offshore Launch, an Austin-based company that connects trades and home service businesses with talent in the Philippines.

She is also proof of something we see over and over: membership is valuable, but leadership is where NAWBO gets the most personal.

She came looking for community. She found so much more.

Bryn Townsend of Townsend and Co joined NAWBO Austin almost two years ago hoping to connect with strong women in her city.

Today she is the chapter’s Marketing Chair.

You show up to NAWBO for the network, and you stay for the relationships, the referrals, and the chance to lead something bigger than yourself.

If you are a woman business owner in Austin comment “MEMBER” to learn more and join Bryn.

June is a moment to celebrate the women who make NAWBO Austin what it is. 🌸

This month we're spotlighting our DEI&B Chair, Tara Godby; a leader whose commitment to inclusion and community runs deeper than a title.

Tara said it best:
"When women grow stronger businesses, they create stronger families, stronger communities, and lasting economic impact."

Tara, thank you for showing up every month and leading with heart. We are so grateful for you. ✨
