GENYOUth recently launched a new Youth Insights report, “Present, Engaged, and Thriving: The Power of a Wellness Culture in Schools,” centering student voices to better understand what drives attendance, engagement and belonging.

The findings are clear: students experiencing a weak culture of wellness are over three times as likely to be frequently or chronically absent compared to those in schools with a strong culture of wellness. Students consistently reported they show up and learn when they feel respected and included, have opportunities for movement and are well-nourished during the school day.

Happy Bike and Roll to School Day! What a great turnout! We made it up some big hills and across some busy streets. Everyone got some swag (horns, baskets, light up safety bracelets ) thanks to Austin Transportation and Public Works and a quick bite to eat thanks to Taco Donut Palace II and on Brodie and Slaughter. Our Council Member Ryan Alter stopped by and said hello, we appreciate your time and efforts to work on getting us a bike lane!

¡Feliz Día de ir en Bicicleta y en Patín a la Escuela! ¡Qué gran asistencia! Logramos subir algunas cuestas empinadas y cruzar calles muy transitadas. Todos recibieron algunos obsequios (bocinas, cestas, pulseras de seguridad luminosas) gracias a Austin Transportation and Public Works, así como un refrigerio rápido gracias a , Taco Donut Palace II y (en Brodie y Slaughter). Nuestro representante del Concejo Municipal, , pasó a saludar; ¡agradecemos su tiempo y sus esfuerzos para conseguirnos un carril para bicicletas!
