TBCA strongly condemns the recent attacks on the Hindu community of Bangladesh during their most cherished religious holiday, Durga Puja. We call upon the authorities at Bangladesh for swift justice and appropriate reparations. We stand for equality, diversity and tolerance across all religious, racial and gender divides.

Thank you all for attending the “South Asian New Year Festival (Pohela Boishakh): Over the Years” broadcast on multiple platforms on Saturday. We now present you the YouTube link for the uncut version of the program. The as-broadcast version is provided in a comment.

We were heartened by the overwhelming response feedback from long-time Austinites who took the journey with us through the memory lane, and how they relived the glory days of their younger selves as well as their kids’. We will upload a YouTube video of the program once it is made available by our media partners so you can revisit at your leisure.

We would take this opportunity to express our gratitude to a few people without whom this endeavor would not have been possible. Shruti Anand, Pallavi Malviya, Joydip Das, Dina Samad and Zymee Chowdhury for virtually hosting the event; Reshmi Chowdhury, Pritha Chowdhury, Progga Chirontoni and Soham Roy for preparing new segments for the event, and guest recitation-artists Moly Dutta (Mumbai), Shompa Batball (Kolkata) and Zinia Runa (Dhaka).

South Asian New Year Festival (SANYF) & Texas Bengali Cultural Alliance (TBCA) would also like to thank Uthsab Austin, South Asian Austin Moms (SAAM), Bandhan Cultural Association of Greater Austin, a range of social media groups, and numerous followers for publicity of the event.

TBCA & SANYF thank Ahsan Chowdhury Hero, Natalie Hossain for guidance; Aattoja Chowdhury Das for backstage support; and Joydip Das for working as the producer for this virtual event.

A special shout-out for Golam Emrul Kaysar Nipon, Dr. Muhammad Moshiur Rahman from the event’s media partners as well as their team, Sohan Rahman, Mithun Chandra Das, Sumi Ahsan, Md. Sumon Ahmed. Their hard work made it possible to live cast the event from six countries in four continents.

SANYF & TBCA thank the City of Austin for supporting the hosting of SANYF at Zilker Park Ampitheatre, and to all who financially supported for this event.

Last but not least, TBCA & SANYF thank the energetic audience who have made the festival festive over the years and who have also supported us through their viewership for this virtual event.

Stay safe. Stay healthy. We look forward to meeting you in person at Zilker Park Ampitheatre next year.

Hope the YouTube video of the program will give you the same feelings once it is uploaded by our media partners.
