💧 Water connects every part of our lives — from farmers growing the food we eat, to local businesses fueling our economies, to friends and families gathering in parks and playgrounds.

This October 16, we’re proud to observe — a day that reminds us that everything we depend on flows from clean water, and access to it is a fundamental human need.

Texas Water Trade CEO Scott Moorhead will join the North Texas Commission Infrastructure Summit to talk about water planning to meet the demands of the future.

A guiding principle in our work is to uplift underrepresented water user groups and strategies in the state. Water markets, multi-stakeholder agreements, and innovative water reuse strategies are all important elements in the future of Texas' water.

Scott will be joined by David Kelly of North Texas Municipal Water District and Tom Barnett of Texas Water Development Board on the water panel.

On June 12, Chandler Crouch will present to the AIA Dallas Committee on the Environment (COTE) on the critical role architects play in advancing onsite water reuse and designing toward net zero water goals.

Architects have a powerful influence on urban development—and with that, an opportunity to design smarter, more sustainable buildings that manage water as the valuable resource it is. This presentation will dive into:
💧 Best practices for integrating onsite water reuse into building design
💧 How to maximize both water and cost savings
💧 Strategies to accelerate adoption of water-smart systems across the industry

If you’re an architect, designer, or sustainability advocate looking to deepen your impact—feel free to reach out to us to continue the dialogue on water-smart building design.

We’re excited to introduce our 2025-2027 Strategic Plan! As we celebrate six years of progress, we are excited to share our bold new vision. With deep appreciation for our founders, board, partners, and supporters, we’re proud of the impact we’ve made – from restoring flows to Texas’ coastal habitats to supporting groundwater replenishment and advancing new water management paradigms in high-growth areas.

Now, we are building on that success. Like the headwaters of a river, this document sets the foundation from which our strategies and programs will flow in the years ahead and reflects our commitment to innovative, collaborative solutions that ensure Texas has the water it needs to thrive – for people, nature, and the economy.

Join us as we scale our efforts, deepen partnerships, and lead Texas toward a more resilient water future.

We’re thrilled to celebrate Belding Farms, winner of the agriculture category at the Texas Environmental Excellence Awards banquet!

Belding Farms is setting a new standard for sustainable agriculture with its groundbreaking work in water conservation. In collaboration with Texas Water Trade, Belding Farms launched a bold 96-acre trial in 2022 using low-evaporation irrigation tech—and the results are promising, resulting in water savings of more than 25%, or about 325,000 gallons per acre—equivalent to one acre-foot of water— while improving soil health and preserving crop yields and quality
