ribe of the Sacred Place) is an active - and in-person - Taino yukayeke of blood descendants and Guaytiao (friends) proudly sharing Boricua Taino living traditions with Central Texas. We defends Taino Heritage everyday through the sharing of history and traditions, music, dance, language, and more with the community at-large.

Juego de Batú - Taino Ballgame!
Batú is an ancient ceremonial ball game played by our Taino ancestors -- and still played today!

Dating back 1000 years, it served as a sacred ritual, social gathering, and community sport. Could be played by both men and women (separate or mixed teams). It was also used for non-violent conflict resolution -- to settle tribal disputes, resolve boundary conflicts and disagreements without resorting to warfare.
