Amplify Austin ends in just a few hours! ⏲️

With your help, we can unlock more matching grant dollars to help Austin’s shelter animals and their people - animals like:

🐱 Halloween arrived to the shelter with serious trauma to his head and ear. As a result, he eventually lost his ear and had severe scarring to his ear canal that requires two surgeries to correct. Halloween has had his first surgery and is awaiting his second. Despite it all, Halloween is a happy, energetic kitten! Both surgeries are being covered by Friends because of our amazing donors.

🐶 This little guy was hit by a car, which resulted in a fractured right ilium and left femur. Thanks to you, he underwent two surgeries to fix both legs and is recovering well!

🐰 Fuzzy - who needed dental extractions in order to eat and, thanks to your generosity, was able to receive surgery and remain in their loving home.

Surgeries like this are quite common at Austin Animal Services, but only because of donors like you. Can we count on you to donate to Friends of AAC before Amplify Austin ends tonight?

Let’s Amplify Friends of AAC❕

Thousands of animals are cared for by (AAS, previously Austin Animal Center) each year, including the young tabby kitty pictured above. He arrived to AAS with a fractured femur, likely from being hit by a car. He underwent surgery to remove the socket end of his femur. Even with a fractured long bone, he has proven to be a big love-bug who wants nothing more than to be petted while cuddling in his vet’s lap.

As we take on additional costs like specialty orthopedic surgeries due to city budget cuts, your donations are more important than ever.

The Austin Animal Services supports dogs from the city’s streets and people.

Happy Giving Tuesday! 🎊🙌🏼 Here is another furry friend feature highlighting our Behavior Assistance Program!

With your support, this year we were able to provide Rizzo and his foster family with compassionate, force-free behavior and training support to build Rizzo’s confidence and allow him to live comfortably with his foster sister, Lasso. Rizzo’s confidence grows every day and his foster family has now become his adoptive family!

Tomorrow is Giving Tuesday! 🫶🏼

Your support has created so many wonderful success stories. Over the past year, your generosity has:

• Provided Saint with emergency surgery for a painful parineal hernia, improving his quality of life and preventing him from being surrendered to the shelter due to expensive vet bills.

• Kept senior dog, Bruni, in his home by helping his loving family pay for his much-needed splenectomy (spleen removal). Thanks to your support, Bruni didn’t lose his home due to unaffordable veterinary care and he’s recovered well.

• Helped pay for x-rays for Pandora after she was having concerning medical issues. The x-rays uncovered scar tissue in Pandora’s nasal passage. Pandora is now receiving the ongoing care she needed and is much more comfortable!

• Covered the cost of new shade structures for exterior portions of the large dogs’ kennel runs. Ensuring the dogs have a shaded, cool place to be outside in their kennels is crucial to their quality of life…and in the heat of summer - their safety.

As we prepare for the year ahead, there’s no doubt that your ongoing support of Friends of AAC is more important than ever. As the city’s budget cuts begin to affect the shelter, Friends of AAC is determined to fill as many gaps as possible - especially when it comes to providing medical care.

It’s cozy season, and our conference room would love a little warmth too. 🙏🤗

If you want to donate twenty dollars in the form of a soft crate mat, the pups who spend most of their day in crates will be very grateful for the upgrade.

We added two sizes to our wishlist so it’s an easy lift. Help us make their crates a little cozier for winter.

We have nearly reached our goal to cover puppy’s specialty orthopedic surgery! 🙏

After being brought to Austin Animal Services with a traumatic injury, this sweet 7-month old puppy required two specialty orthopedic surgeries to fix her leg.

Thanks to your generosity, we are less than $1,000 from fully covering the cost of her surgeries. 🙌

As Halloweekend comes to an end, we wanted to share some of adoptable dogs and cats from the city shelter who got into the spirit. 🎃

From pumpkins to superheroes, these pets may have dressed up for the season, but what they’re really hoping for is a home of their own. 🙏

We help keep pets in homes, helps shelter pets find new families, and provides enrichment and care for the pets (and humans!) in the shelter. We address animal medical issues, behavioral challenges, shelter stresses, facility needs, and costs of ownership — helping Austin’s shelter pets find and stay in their forever homes.
