Critical Mass Austin strives to demonstrate support for the Austin Transportation Departmentโ€™s focus on creating mobility infrastructure improvements by organizing monthly multi-modal celebrations. Our goal is to maintain awareness for people that ride bicycles and other alternative modes of transportation so that safety is increased for all people.

โ–ช๏ธ We roll together through intersections like buses and trains. Travel as a unit, pedal faster to close any gaps, and evaluate for yourself if it is safe to proceed.
โ–ช๏ธ Stay to the right side of the road, call out hazards, do not litter, and be prepared to break off from the ride independently when necessary.
โ–ช๏ธ Help foster our safe spaces by respecting our community norms, reporting harassment, and treating all with mutual respect.

Should Critical Mass Austin sign on to a coalition letter supporting protected bicycle lanes on Sixth Street between I-35 and Congress Ave.

Protected bike lanes on Sixth are critical safety facilities and an important part of the planned bicycle network. They're also official City policy but opposition from certain stakeholders is threatening the project.

We know this seems obvious but we do our best to not make assumptions and this is a way for us to share information and collect measurable data to share with our partners.
