This year's theme is “Solar for All, Y’all,” and SOLAR 2026 will bring together researchers, industry leaders, policymakers, educators, students, and advocates to advance clean, resilient, and accessible solar energy solutions.

The conference will feature keynote speakers, technical sessions, research presentations, local solar tours, NABCEP CEUs with Sean White, ASES Awards celebrations, TXSES’s 50th anniversary celebration, and networking opportunities across the renewable energy sector!

As the saying goes, "as Texas goes, so goes the nation." We're already deep into summer heat here in Texas and the grid is well-solidified by and storage. The US grid is following suit.

"It’s set to be an abnormally hot summer this year — but the U.S. grid appears to be in decent shape to handle the heat. The credit goes to a boatload of new solar and storage and a handful of new gas plants."

Nationwide grid reliability has improved since last summer — and new solar and batteries, not aging coal plants, are the main reason.

Each year, ASES honors leaders in solar research, technology, industry, codes and standards, and policy, as well as student and volunteer leaders. Nominations for these awards must be placed by ASES members with the support of members or nonmembers alike.

ASES is accepting nominations for the following awards to be presented on Tuesday, October 20, at the SOLAR 2026 National Solar Conference in Austin, TX.

The nominations deadline has been extended to June 1, 2026. Instructions and additional details are on ases.org/awards.

Today, we honor and remember the courageous men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. We extend our gratitude to all who have served and continue to serve our nation.

In observance of Memorial Day, will be closed on Monday, May 25.

Business Member Highlight ☀️👏 MM Solar Advisory is proud to have installed this on the First Unitarian Church of Dallas, representing a significant step in the congregation’s ongoing commitment to .

“This project reflects who we are and what we believe,” said Senior Minister Daniel Kanter. “Our faith calls us to care for the Earth and for future generations, and installing solar panels is a concrete way we put those values into action as a community.”

The solar energy system is expected to generate 133,289 kilowatt hours per year—enough to power the average U.S. home for approximately 12 years or drive an electric vehicle about 400,000 miles.
