Meow Village is an ‘all volunteer’ 501(c)3 non-profit, based in Aurora, Oregon. Our focus is to improve the quality of life for feral cats. We are committed to providing them a safe environment in which to live, including food, shelter and medical attention–including spay and neuter as needed. Their “safe environment” may be with an existing colony, a barn environment (visit our Relocation Program

page), or in a family home. The decision is based on what is best for the cat given their level of socialization, personality, health and any other extenuating circumstances. Regardless of their location, we ensure they receive proper food, shelter and overall care. In addition to rescue, we work to educate communities in the importance of spay and neuter, build partnerships with other ‘no kill’ organizations and, lastly, to change attitudes toward feral cats who we believe deserve the same chance to live a happy, peaceful life that domestic cats enjoy. If you have feral cats in your community and would like to join our efforts in resolving the feral cat crisis, we will loan you our traps and assist you through TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) process. Truly feral cats—those born in the wild who have had no human interaction—live happier lives in an outdoor environment where they have access to food, water and shelter—such as a stable or barn. Even wineries are ideal locations for our rescues. How do you benefit from participating in this program? You get a full-time feline to guard your structures from rodents who, as you know, will chew through anything to get to grain, oats–any kind of feed. They will also gnaw through electrical wire, leather and insulation. Your new four legged family member(s) would be delivered to you healthy, already spayed or neutered, vaccinated and treated for ear mites and fleas. And this is definitely a situation where two cats are better than one. Their companionship makes them feel safe and secure, and they can double-team those pesky mice! We hope you agree that our rescues offer a “natural” resolution to any rodent problem you may have. At the same time, your compassion offers them a second chance for a better life. There is no adoption fee associated with our Relocation Program... although donations are welcome! We do ask that you acclimate your new family members by housing them in a large cage, secure room, or secure outbuilding with food, water and litter for a period of three weeks, so they can become familiar with their new surroundings. They need to bond with their new environment–and you, so they feel safe and know they will be cared for. As a participant in Barn Livin’ is the Life For Me, you will continue to provide food, water and shelter for the cats once their confinement period is over. General information

Meow Village believes every feral cat, like domestic cats, deserves a safe, happy, comfortable life. That is why we created our "Barn Livin' is The Life for Me!" relocation program. We seek out suitable "barn type" homes--stables, wineries, barns--any outdoor structure that can provide a safe environment from predators and shelter from inclement weather. We charge no adoption fee for these cats. The only requirement is the "barn" owner provide water and food for the lifetime of their barn cat(s). All cats are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and treated for fleas and parasites before going to their new barn homes
