🌟 Happy World Sight Day, Aurora!

At Tuesday night's Committee of the Whole meeting, Mayor John Laesch issued a proclamation, declaring October 8 as World Sight Day in the City of Aurora.

The Aurora Lions Club, which has served the City for over 100 years, accepted the proclamation for its efforts in providing area youth and adults with free vision screenings aimed at detecting and preventing eye-related diseases.

The day, organized by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB), is dedicated to raising awareness about vision impairment, blindness, and the importance of eye screenings. ✅

Another Saturday spent at the Aurora Farmers Market! 🌽🍅🌻

It was great seeing so many community members out enjoying everything the market has to offer. From fresh produce and local vendors to friendly conversations and community connections, the Aurora Farmers Market is a wonderful reminder of what makes our city so special.

It was also great seeing members of the Aurora Police Department and Aurora Fire Department connecting with residents and helping make the market a welcoming place for everyone.

Thank you to everyone who makes this market such a vibrant part of our community. If you haven't stopped by yet this season, I encourage you to check it out—you won't be disappointed!

We'll be back at the Aurora Farmers Market on Saturday, August 8. We hope to see you there!
