Our mission at UYM is to win urban youth to Christ, build them in their faith and equip them to become spiritual leaders at their schools, families and in the community.

We will be welcoming our new apprentices next week, along with our returning apprentice as they step into their final year with us.

We’re truly grateful for the opportunity to build this program—made possible by those who believed in the vision, and most of all, by God.

Here’s a glimpse into the journey: from planning events, leading groups, serving, praying, and so much more. Watching each of them grow—not just in skill, but in their faith and who they are becoming—has been something special. 🤍

A day filled with hands-on love, where we came together to clean, rebuild, and pour into something bigger than ourselves. Our students didn’t just show up—they learned what it truly means to serve, to give, and to create something new with what they’ve been given.

For those who may not know, every year we are blessed with the opportunity to travel to Tijuana, Mexico with our staff, students, and volunteers.

In just a few short days, we come together to build homes from the ground up for families in need. It’s something we’ve been doing for years, yet each experience feels just as humbling and life-changing as the first.

Being able to serve these families is truly a gift from God. It gives our students the chance to see a different side of the world—building not just homes, but character, gratitude, and a deeper sense of purpose.

You always come back changed… a new version of yourself every time.

UYM is a Christ-centered nonprofit serving youth in the Denver and Aurora communities, helping students become the best versions of themselves through mentorship, prayer, and meaningful relationships.

Through our programs, students are given opportunities to grow, try new things, build confidence, and experience moments they may have never had before.

God, we thank You for every donor, volunteer, mentor, staff member, student, and supporter who makes this mission possible. We couldn’t do it without You. 🙏

Celebrating the graduation of our Apprentices! 🎉

We also want to give a special shoutout to PT—such a true blessing to our program—along with his amazing wife, Nez. PT has poured so much into these apprentices, helping them grow in every area of life. Through intentional 1-on-1 time and guidance rooted in the Word of Christ, his impact has been powerful and lasting.

We’re so thankful for your uplifting spirit, your heart, and your passion—not just for the apprentices, but for all the students at Urban Youth Ministries. Your family has made a meaningful difference in so many lives.

We’re incredibly proud of this graduating group and can’t wait to welcome the next one! 🙌

A time was HAD! 🎉🕺

We hosted an 80s-themed lunch for the Colorado Uplift staff… but with a twist 👀 something went VERY wrong. Think murder mystery vibes 🔍

Such a fun way to team bond, laugh, and work together to figure out what happened to our “friend.” Every single staff member showed up and showed OUT in their 80s characters — the commitment was everything! 😂✨

Moments like this remind us how powerful it is to connect, have fun, and not take ourselves too seriously. What a blast! 💥

✨ BIG CONGRATULATIONS to our Cohort 1 Apprentices! They have graduated ✨

These incredible young individuals have dedicated the past two years to our Apprenticeship program, and we could not be more proud of each and every one of you. Through every challenge, you showed resilience, perseverance, and growth—coming out stronger every single time.

It has been such a privilege to watch you flourish, not only as leaders guiding students, but in your personal walk with Christ. Your faith, dedication, and heart for others have been truly inspiring.

Keep reaching for the stars and never forget that God has a beautiful plan for your lives—plans to prosper you and give you hope for the future (Jeremiah 29:11).

If you feel led, please take a moment to lift these individuals up in prayer as they continue their journey in life and in Christ. May God walk beside them always, and may they remain rooted in Him every step of the way. 🤍
