Fox Valley El Sistema's Nucleo site offers youth (and their parents) affordable Summer classes beginning on May 29! Beginners and novice courses offered in ukulele, guitar, woodwinds, brass, percussion and guitar! Experienced instructors teach in group class settings. $20 per term per class! Instrument is provided!
Weekend classes only: Fridays 3:30-6:30pm and Saturdays 1:00-4:00pm.

We had two great instrument petting zoos this weekend. Thank you to Aurora Public Library and St. Rita of Cascia spring market for having us.

Calling all young musicians - and your parents! Fox Valley El Sistema has TWO Instrument Petting Zoos coming up this weekend! Come and try out some musical instruments and see how YOU could make REAL MUSIC!

Saturday, April 25th, 10-12 at the Aurora Public Library District's Santori Library, downtown (corner of River St. & Benton)

AND--
Sunday, April 26th 10-4 at St. Rita of Cascia Spring Market. We are raffling off free lessons for our summer term at this event! They will have lots of vendors here, food, and crafts at the Market as well!

Wow -- Fox Valley El Sistema's Nucleo classes present two spring concerts! Strings classes perform on Friday, April 17th, at 5:00pm. Woodwinds, brass and percussion classes perform Saturday, April 18th, at 2:00 pm. Both performances will be at the FVES Nucleo site, St Peter's School, 915 Sard Avenue, Aurora.

A fun fact about the Nucleo classes -- any parents who enrolls his / her child as a students in a Nucleo class may enroll, too! The parent studies right along with his child - in the same class!! See the Summer Class Schedule and register at

What's more fun that an "instrument petting zoo"? Kids get to try out real instruments and dream of playing the big time. And parents have their cameras ready for videos of that first note! Fox Valley El Sistema teachers are on hand to answer any questions and encourage the kids to experience trumpets, violins, and more! Here's professional musician & Instructor Greg McMahill lending a hand to budding trumpeter at a recent FVES "zoo" at Santori Public Library in Aurora.
