Bangkok Otological Center, member of Hearing International is holding its 42nd International Temporal Bone Dissection Course at Siriraj Hospital. Dr. Samut Chongvisal lectured on management of the facial nerve in temporal surgery. The four day course had attendees from Vietnam, Philippines, Saudi Arabia as well as several university programs in Thailand.

The annual meeting of Hearing International has now concluded after a great interactive time. Many thanks to Wan Min and the Beijing Audiology Society for hosting a great meeting! Early plans are already underway for next year’s meeting in Manila, sponsored by our two Center members there. More to come about this later, but please plan to attend. In will be held in conjunction with other ORL societies annual meetings. So a great forum for all.

The dates and location of the 2023 Hearing International annual meeting have been changed to ease the transportation for members attending. The meeting will now be the last days of October in Beijing. The Beijing Audiology Society will be hosting the meeting. An invitation letter will be sent to those needing it for a Visa. Look for more updates in the next few weeks. The climate should be ideal for those wishing to do some sight seeing around the meeting.

Hearing International will hold its annual meeting in person this year. The Beijing Society of Audiology will organize the meeting to be held in early August in Harbin, China. Check back as dates and details are being finalized currently. Hope to see everyone there.

Suchitra Pransanuk, President of Hearing International, visited the University of Colorado HI Center in Denver. In conjunction with HI, the UC Center has an international scholars program for otolaryngologists interested in an in-depth experience in otology and audiology, as well as other ENT fields. Visitation periods are variable, depending on trainees desires. Colorado law does not permit actual hands on patient care, but scholars are able to observe in all clinical settings and have hands on experience in the temporal bone and research laboratories.

Our last Hearing International meeting was January 2022 in Pattaya, Thailand. Sessions were attended by the Centers virtually with good participation. Lectures from an international faculty, Center's reports and a vestibular practicum were presented. Planning is now underway for the next annual meeting, hoping to be in-person. The Bejing Society of Audiology, our newest Center, will host. Assuming that the world allows free travel, tentative plans are to hold the meeting in Harbin, China in summer 2023. More details will be posted as they are available.

After doing much of our work via Zoom, we are now planning in person meetings again. Currently, two events are in the planning stage.

Temporal Bone Course sponsored by the Bangkok Otologic Center at Siriraj Hospital is planned for November 7 - 10 this year. Interested potential participants should contact the organizers directly for registration. International faculty will include Drs. Carol Bauer and Herman Jenkins.
