Did you know? Ho**ah smoke isn’t harmless. It contains addictive ni****ne and other dangerous chemicals that water can't filter out. When charcoal is burned to heat up ho**ah to***co, it produces high levels of a poisonous gas called carbon monoxide (CO) that can cause severe headaches, dizziness, confusion, loss of consciousness, and even death.

Know the risks of smoking ho**ah to***co, especially in spaces with little or no ventilation.

It's about more than wearing pink all month. This October, join CBHC in prioritizing breast health and early detection for Black women. Breast cancer disparities remain a serious health equity issue. Black women are about 40% more likely to die from breast cancer than White women and experience lower survival rates for many types and stages of the disease.

Every woman’s experience with breast health and breast cancer is different, but every journey deserves awareness, support, and access to timely care. This month, know your personal risk, pay attention to changes in your breasts, and talk with a healthcare provider about when screening should begin and how often you should be screened.

Know your body. Understand your risk. Get screened. And Sis! speak up when something doesn’t feel right.

CBHC’s Outreach Team was honored to stand alongside Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church and Salt of the Earth Ministries for their recent Community Outreach Day in Aurora. It was a beautiful day of service, connection, and care, providing much-needed resources to promote wellness and encourage prevention that can save lives in the Black community.

Rising Star’s message reminds us of the power of showing up for one another: “You are not alone. Together, we can make a difference.”

Thank you to Rising Star and Salt of the Earth Ministries for welcoming CBHC and creating a safe space to serve, educate, and strengthen our community together.
