A young man reached out to me and asked if I would help share his fundraiser. After reading his story, I decided not only to share it, but to make a donation as well.

He has been through a lot and is working toward continuing his education at UIC. I’m asking my family, friends, and community to please take a moment to read his story. If you are able to donate, any amount can help. If you’re unable to give, please share his fundraiser so we can help him reach more people.

Sometimes helping simply means helping someone’s story reach the right person. ❤️🙏🏽

📚School Is Out… Now What?

Summer is the perfect time to start preparing teens and young adults for adulthood.

Whether your child has a disability or not, independence starts with small steps.

This summer, encourage your young adult to practice:

✅ Doing laundry

✅ Preparing a simple meal

✅ Following a daily schedule

✅ Managing personal hygiene

✅ Helping with household chores

✅ Learning responsibility

Remember: Adulthood is not built overnight. It is built one skill at a time.

At Luckett Youth Center, we believe every young person deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and prepare for a successful future.

💜 What is one life skill your teen is working on this summer?📓
