Concertia

Concertia Originally founded in 2017, ConcertiaHTX is focused on creating meaningful impact on the communities we serve through bold, social cause based programming.

Our vision is to empower social causes through the prism of new music and multi-media art in order to connect communities directly to these issues and provide a framework of support for new and emerging artists. We partner with non-arts organizations that align with our programs, and connect audiences with them through moving, thought-provoking multi-disciplinary arts performances. Today, we're ma

Concertia aims to produce works of art that transform your perspective and way of thinking. Music and art express what words cannot, and we are grateful to be able to share such meaningful messages through this avenue. But we cannot do this without your support!

Every single dollar that you give to this campaign goes towards making art happen - from covering the money that artists are paid for their expertise, knowledge and practice, to booking the right spaces that allow us to best represent their work, amplifying their messages and voices in the most effective way possible.

Concertia HTX is excited to launch our inaugural season this year with three impactful works that surround the topic of indigeneity. Indigeneity is a complex of histories, homes, genetics, traditions, and ideas that every human being is connected to. For some, this is marked by a profound connection to documented generations, and the ground beneath their feet; for others, the blank pages of their history break the intimate bonds with their unique branch of humanity.⁣

Please swipe through the slides to learn more about each piece. We cannot launch this season without YOUR help! We encourage our supporters to donate what they can. Your support will allow us to effectively present these works so that voices can be amplified and experiences can be shared.⁣

ConcertiaHTX is committed to empowering social causes through the prism of new and emerging art.⁣

Today we’re launching our Fall Season Campaign: Indigeneity to raise $15,000 to fund our inaugural season! ⁣

Through our programming this season, we seek to shatter stereotypes and steward humanity through the arts. We have commissioned and will present works by artists who are living in this complex, widening the currently impoverished dialogue surrounding indigenous issues and the concept of indigeneity in the United States and abroad.⁣

We kindly ask that you consider making a contribution that will aid us in producing a season of new music that presents indigenous perspective in ways that go beyond words. ⁣
Use the link in our bio to donate and help us fund our future.⁣

Thank you for your continued support!⁣

The quote above was pulled from a document with 887 pages worth of declarations from migrant children detained at the U.S. - México border between 2017 and 2019. We must warn you that this content is difficult to read, but it pales in comparison to what these children experienced. All of these declarations were made as sworn declarations under penalty of perjury.

Our upcoming preview of Soul Echoes is a depiction of these children’s stories and experiences, allowing us to better understand the injustices that they faced. We kindly ask that you join us at our preview and panel on August 18, as this is the first classical work that focuses on the issue of children in detention centers.
