Fox Valley Festival Chorus

Fox Valley Festival Chorus The Fox Valley Festival Chorus is one of Chicagoland's oldest community choruses. They perform concerts twice a year as well as appear at community events.

The Fox Valley Festival Chorus, established in 1950, promotes and encourages choral activity, and provides entertainment for our community. The group sings a wide variety of music from classical to pop at live performances. Our members hail from DuPage, Kane, Kendall and Will Counties in northeastern Illinois and range in age from 18 - 80. Though no formal auditions are required, all members parti

cipate in vocal placement testing. Members are expected to thoroughly learn the music, attend rehearsals regularly, and participate in all concerts and chorus activities and fundraisers. In recent years, the Chorus has had the pleasure of performing in New York City at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, at Casa Loma in Toronto and at Cleveland’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. We also toured Italy where we were featured at the Vatican in Rome. For information regarding participation, dues, and concert attire, please visit our website at www.foxvalleyfc.org/join---contact

As we pause to remember those who sacrificed their lives for our country we reflect back on the Chorus’s visit to Normandy, France in 2025. We had the privilege to sing at the American Cemetery and then visited Omaha Beach and Utah Beach and museum. We had the honor this morning to participate in Kaneville’s 131st Memorial Day Program. 🇺🇸

The chorus had the privilege to tour and perform a recital in this amazing cathedral in 2025.

For more than 800 years, Chartres Cathedral has been one of the most important pilgrimage sites in France. People came here for its connection to the Virgin Mary, and many still do today. It is not just a landmark, it has been part of people’s journeys for centuries.

What sets it apart is how complete it feels. Most medieval cathedrals were altered over time, but Chartres remains largely intact, from its structure to its stained glass. That is a big reason why UNESCO considers it one of the most authentic Gothic cathedrals in Europe.

Inside, the light does most of the work. The stained glass windows date back to the 12th and 13th centuries, and many of them are still in place, which is rare. You are not looking at reconstructions or replacements, but the same glass people saw hundreds of years ago.

What catches people off guard is how direct the experience feels. It is not over explained or staged. You walk in, and it speaks for itself.

Would you go out of your way to visit Chartres, or keep to the bigger cities?
