We’ve noticed some new followers lately, so we wanted to share a little about the Austin Smith Foundation.

The foundation was created to honor Austin, a volunteer firefighter with the St. Paul Fire Department who tragically lost his life in the line of duty while battling a barn fire.

Our mission is to turn remembrance into purpose by supporting those pursuing careers as first responders or nurses, keeping Austin’s legacy alive through scholarships, events, and community support.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support and believe in this mission.

The Austin Smith Foundation is proud to support the Trails End Fire Conference for 2026.
 Taking place May 6–8 in Oregon City, OR, this event brings together some of the fire service’s most respected instructors for a powerful lecture series and hands-on training.

What an Incredible Night!

We had such an amazing turnout at the Annual Austin Smith Foundation Dinner on October 18, 2025!

It was a night to remember — a delicious Thanksgiving-style dinner from McKillip’s Catering, awesome live music by Willamette Skies, and tons of fun with our silent and oral auctions.

A huge thank you to all of our generous sponsors and everyone who joined us. Because of your support, we were able to award FOUR scholarships this year!

We’re so grateful for this incredible community — you make everything we do possible.
