Upsilon Zeta and OACAC are working together again to help provide a better Christmas for children in Lawrence County. This is the 38th year for the Kids of Christmas program, which helps financially struggling parents provide Christmas gifts for their children.
OACAC staff verifies eligibility of the families and compiles the children’s wish list, Upsilon Zeta members collect donations and shop for gifts for the kids. Thanks to donations from generous members of area communities, this program has helped hundreds of families throughout the years.
Each eligible child receives a new set of clothes, a pair of shoes, a toy and a book. Other items, such as stocking stuffers, are provided as donations allow.
Ways that you can help:
Pick up one or more Christmas wish ornaments from the trees at Wal-Mart in Aurora or Shoe Sensation in Monett. Donations may be left at these locations until December 14 -- no need to wrap the gifts.
Monetary donations may be:
• dropped off at Freedom Bank,
• mailed to: Kids of Christmas, 5053 State Highway WW, Verona Mo 65769
• online through PayPal to [email protected]
Persons or groups who would like to donate the entire wish list for one child, or multiple children are invited to call Angie Boettler (417) 440-0337.
Donations will be collected through December 14. Local children are counting on all of us. Together we can make great things happen!
