A non-tropical coastal low will spin up off the Southeast Coast this weekend and slowly move north along the East Coast through early next week, bringing tropical storm-like conditions to parts of the immediate East Coast. The Carolinas and Mid-Atlantic coas see impacts this weekend with the Northeast seeing impacts early next week. The main impact for areas away from the coast is gusty winds and possibly a few rain showers for the Carolinas but inland impacts increase for the Northeast where heavy rain and wind are likely🌀🌧️🌊

Some of these rain totals from future Imelda early next week are impressive for Eastern NC. This may end up being more impactful than the winds from the storm. Both combined would mean widespread power outages. This is the Euro. I don’t think this is too far fetched. Don’t panic and be rational. But consider flooding and no power.

Bahamas this weekend. Close skirt for Florida. Then watching for maybe a north motion. Many runs have following Humberto missing the US with curve. Ensembles keeping a few closer options on the plate. Lots to digest tomorrow as this is evolving. Hispaniola likely holds back development until it passes.
