Fox Chamber Singers Names Chicago-Based Composer Kenneth Martin Composer-in-Residence!!!

Dr. Lisa Fredenburgh and Fox Chamber Singers have named Chicago-based composer Kenneth “Ken” Martin Composer-in-Residence for the ensemble’s 2026–2027 season.

Martin is a composer, arranger, editor, conductor and bass singer whose choral, vocal, sacred and instrumental music has been performed internationally. His original compositions, arrangements and performing editions are available through his publishing imprint, Martin Music Editions.

He also sings bass with Fox Chamber Singers and serves as Music Coordinator for Grace Anglican Fellowship in Lake Forest, Illinois.

The appointment reflects Fredenburgh’s artistic direction for Fox Chamber Singers: bringing accomplished vocal artists together with living composers, collaborative partners and music that speaks directly to contemporary audiences.

By appointing a composer who also performs within the ensemble, Fox Chamber Singers creates a direct working relationship among composer, conductor and singers. Martin will develop new music in conversation with the musicians who will rehearse and perform it.
