Boy Scout Troop 11 The Original Blackhawk Troop. Scoutmaster - Rick Scalzo

Troop 11 was founded in 1916 and is the one of the oldest Boy Scout Troops in Aurora. It has 40 registered Boy Scouts between the ages of 10 ½ and 17. The Troop tent camps outside from March until November. Outdoor activities can include: tent camping, cooking over wood fires and charcoal, rock climbing, rapelling, sailing, canoeing, hiking, bicycling, and fishing. There is no limit to what we can do in the outdoors. Our scouts plan the program each year, and the adult leadership then makes arrangements to make it happen. Indoor activities include cabin camping, visiting indoor waterparks, museums and trips to Chicago to name a few.

Summer camp day 3 activities.
First an update. We did have the wildfire smoke come in but we were blessed with a wind off the lake that kept the worst of it away.
Staff adjusted many outdoor activities to indoor. Scout spurt has not been impacted at all.

Last night the scouts attended a true OA call out ceremony and by the time it started, the skies cleared. Today the temp is about 18 degrees cooler.
