Since 1998, the Rocky Mountain Prevention Research Center (RMPRC) at the Colorado School of Public Health has focused on advancing healthy lifestyles and preventing chronic disease among residents and communities in the Rocky Mountain region. The RMPRC focuses on advancing healthy lifestyles and preventing chronic disease among residents and communities in the Rocky Mountain region by conducting,
disseminating, and serving as a resource for community-based research and evaluation. The mission of the RMPRC is to conduct community-engaged research and evaluation with schools and communities to achieve health equity by optimizing social-emotional, mental, and physical health. The Center is located on the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus (AMC). The RMPRC partners with preschools, schools and communities to implement interventions focused on the promotion of policy, system and environmental (PSE) changes that support health and well-being with the goal of preventing later chronic diseases. A particular goal of the RMPRC is to support early childhood education (ECE) providers and the healthy development of the children in their care in preschool settings.
