Flag Day at VFW Post 887 started with the ceremony to dispose of unserviceable flags that are ragged and worn out. Post veterans started with over 1500 cemetary size small flags, then moved on to over 500 larger flags. At 1pm we were joined by Troop 603 and with their participation redid the ceremony. They then assisted with more flags being properly disposed of getting larger in size and ending with a 40ft×50ft dealership flag. Many thanks to those who participated including an amazing patriotic Scout Troop. Sadly, we have 3 more 35 gallon trash bags full to do on another day and time.
