A six-part urban agriculture education initiative, where we as a community learn and teach each other the basics of growing fresh, local, healthy whole foods using ecologically innovative practices. Our community initiatives include:

We plan to increase access to Wholesome Wave Georgia's Food for Health programs in 2025. Food For Health, which includes produce prescriptions, mobile health clinics, cooking education, and more, is one of our most powerful programs.

Maya, the FarmRx Manager at the Athens Farmers Market, shared this note from a 2024 Food For Health graduate: “I truly appreciate all the assistance, the shopping, the deliveries etc. I really enjoyed the program and all the fresh food, as it reminded me of my childhood and growing up on the farm. Your program made it very easy for me to eat much healthier and I look forward to continuing on that path. I would like for your team to know that I started out with my a1c as a diabetic and by Monday when I had my physical so I could be released for surgery, it is now down to 6.4!! I owe that to your program and would not have been able to drop below diabetic level without it.”
