Did you hear the good news? We’re going to Louisville, Kentucky! Join SCN Board member @[Austin Lopesilvero](urn:li:person:_NrUAOMN5n) in his hometown for "Ecosystem Building Distilled." 🥃

Much like bourbon, a strong ecosystem starts with the right ingredients. Grassroots efforts, state support, longstanding programs, and founders from every background. It takes time to age because you can't rush trust. And the real magic happens in the blending, when organizations stop working in silos and start working together.

Did you know Richmond, Virginia is home to the nation’s first municipal Office of Community Wealth Building? Launched in 2014, OCWB was created to coordinate anti-poverty efforts, connect residents with workforce opportunities, and expand fair access to resources across the city.

Today, OCWB works alongside nonprofits, educators, businesses, and public agencies to remove barriers to self-sufficiency for Richmond residents. Together, they’re aligning services, sharing resources, and advocating for systems-level change so more families can achieve long-term economic mobility and build real, lasting wealth in their own communities. We're honored to have Richmond City Mayor Danny Avula join us for the Happy Hour kickoff on Tuesday, September 29th and Richmond City CAO Odie Donald II join us on Wednesday morning.
