It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Walter Eubanks, a beloved founding member, officer, and Grand Marshal of the Irish American Heritage Society.

Walter was a true pillar of our Society. His lifelong devotion to this community, his love for his heritage, and his steady presence (particularly in the walking section of the parade) left a lasting mark on all who knew him.

As a tribute to our dear friend, members are asked to wear their IAHS sashes to his funeral Mass on Friday, June 26, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church.

Please keep Beth and the entire Eubanks family in your thoughts and prayers.

Please join us in congratulating Patrick Regan, who now begins his term as President of the Irish-American Heritage Society.

Patrick becomes the fourth member of the Regan family to serve as IAHS President, following his father, John Regan, our 10th President, and his brothers Michael Regan, our 21st President, and Tim Regan, our 25th President. It is a remarkable family legacy of service to the Society and to Augusta’s Irish-American community.

We also extend our sincere thanks to outgoing President Jason Scherer for his leadership, dedication, and service to IAHS.

Congratulations as well to our new officers:
Patrick Regan, President
Joe Bowles, Vice President
Stephen Hickey, Treasurer
Patrick Douglas, Jr., Secretary

We look forward to the year ahead and are grateful for the members who continue to give their time and energy to our society.
