📚 Students Do Better with Arts Education

Learning about the arts can help students develop skills they use in school and in everyday life.

· Arts education helps young people learn how to think creatively, work with others, express themselves, and adapt to new situations.

· Schools with arts programs often see better attendance and graduation rates and fewer behavior problems.

· Whether painting, playing an instrument, acting, dancing, or writing, the arts give young people opportunities to practice skills that can help you in many parts of life.

🎨 The Arts Help the Economy

· In 2022, the nonprofit arts sector in Wichita had an economic impact of $184.9 million.

· Across the United States, arts and culture contribute about $1.02 trillion to the economy—that’s about 4.4% of the entire U.S. economy!

· People often choose places to visit because of their museums, music, festivals, theaters, and other cultural attractions.

· Visitors who travel for arts and culture stay longer and spend more money than other travelers. That money helps local restaurants, hotels, shops, and businesses.

💚 Art Can Help Us Stay Healthy

The arts aren't just good for our minds—they can also benefit our physical and emotional health. Research has found that the arts can help reduce pain, anxiety, and stress in healthcare settings. Creative activities and therapies can also help people recovering from physical and emotional injuries.

· Adults who go to live theatre, concerts, or the opera at least once a year are less likely to experience memory loss and have better word-recall skills.

· Adults over 50 who go to arts and culture activities like going to the museum or live performances are 25% less likely to have chronic pain 10 years later.

The arts help people:

· Feel less stressed and depressed

· Improve memory and thinking skills

· Need less pain medication

· Recover more quickly

· Spend less time in the hospital

Even something as simple as listening to music, drawing, dancing, or writing affects how we feel.

It's getting Hot in Here...How about a little cold to create a little balance! Come to the Theatre to enjoy a COOL MOVIE! It's a classic!
