National Garden Clubs ,Inc. Azalea District. The Augusta Council of Garden Clubs, Inc. The Spade and Trowel Garden Club was organized in May of 1955 at Trinity-on-the-Hill United Methodist Church with sixteen members. The Country Hills Garden Club sponsored the Spade an

d Trowel Garden Club. For sixty years ,The Spade and Trowel Garden Club ,has enjoyed a history rooted in service to the community, development and growth of the gardener in each member and fostering sense of community within itself.
