Walking Through Smoke: The Secret Battle for Your Heart | Act Like Men For Real

Of the past 3,400 years, humanity has been at peace for just 268 of them. But the real war isn't between nations — it's the secret battle of ideas competing for your allegiance, and it's fought in the words you speak, the posts you share, and the quiet criticisms you carry.

In this episode, we trace the battle from Proverbs 18:21 — "death and life are in the power of the tongue" — to the Psalms' cry of "teach me thy way," and discover why the Christian answer to conflict is a single Hebrew word: shalom. Drawing on Jeff Myers, Brother Lawrence, Michael Thompson, Dallas Willard, and the classic commentary of J.A. Alexander, we find that before you can become the warrior, you must become the beloved son.

Because there is a love that transforms you. A battle worth fighting. And a story far bigger than you've known.

Act Like Men - For Real - Broken Men
Welcome to Act Like Men For Real. I'm Devon Harris and tonight we're talking about Broken Men—men who are ready to stop pretending everything's fine when something deep inside knows it isn't.
I want to talk about something powerful tonight. Something I've been meditating on.
Most countries have what they call an Iron Dome—a missile defense system. Reacts to threats. Intercepts danger.
But there's something greater over the people of God. The Bible describes it like this:
"I will be a wall of fire around it," declares the Lord. "And I will be its glory within." — Zechariah 2:5
A canopy of smoke by day, glow of flaming fire by night. Isaiah 4. Psalm 91—the shelter of the Most High. His faithfulness as your shield and rampart.
This isn't a system. It's a Person.
And unlike an Iron Dome that reacts to incoming threats, the believer's covering is relational. It depends on dwelling in that shelter. Abiding. Staying close.

We don’t need a meeting of Really Nice Guys; we need a gathering of Really Dangerous Men. It is imperative that a believer know he has a spirit, since, as we shall soon learn, every communication of God with man occurs there. If the believer does not discern his own spirit he invariably is ignorant of how to commune with God in the spirit. He easily substitutes the thoughts or emotions of the soul for the works of the spirit. Thus he confines himself to the outer realm, unable ever to reach the spiritual realm.
1 Corinthians 2.11 speaks of "the spirit of the man which is in him." 1 Corinthians 5.4 mentions "my spirit." Romans 8.16 says "our spirit" 1 Corinthians 14.14 uses "my spirit." 1 Corinthians 14.32 tells of the "spirits of prophets." Proverbs 25.28 refers to "his own spirit." Darby Hebrews 12.23 record "the spirits of just men." Zechariah 12.1 states that "the Lord . . . formed the spirit of man within him." The above Scripture verses sufficiently prove that we human beings do possess a human spirit. This spirit is not synonymous with our soul nor is it the same as the Holy Spirit. The One Minute Pause. I simply take sixty seconds to be still and let everything go. As I enter the pause, I begin with release. I let it all go—the meetings, what I know is coming next, the fact I’m totally behind on everything, all of it. I simply let it go. I pray, Jesus—I give everyone and everything to you."

I really thank God for a ministry like full circle refuge who actually is committed to helping all the kids society and others have deemed (NoHopeFor). This ministry invested in me when I was still banging, in the streets, and even in prison. Quit watching the news seeing our youth get killed and locked up and complaining about it. Get in the field you have a voice and if you nervous bout speaking donate to the people that’s not. These are our graduates today from One Degree At A Time. Bright kids all they needed was somebody to speak life to them. All glory to God for everything he’s been doing through the ministry Terrall Keith -

Think of the raging epidemic of injustice in modern society—the racism, bigotry, and political polarization, or the growing chasm of inequality between the rich and poor, the haves and have-nots. Sociologists tell us our society is more divided than it’s been since the Civil War. How do we possibly heal these wounds? We serve.
