It's a great weekend to be in the water! All of our sites tested great for recreation! We hope everyone has a safe weekend and stay cool! Just remember, the best way to stay cool is to get in the river! It's a beautiful 72 degrees, and oh so refreshing! It's YOUR River...get into it!

Nothing we love more than paddling the Savannah and making sure our water is safe.

The weather is hot but everything is cool down by the river. Samples taken this week by Veterans For Clean Water show E. coli levels well within safe swimming guidelines.

Had a great day on the river yesterday! Always fantastic paddling with other Veterans and their kiddos. As expected, the sample results were a little elevated for E coli after the tremendous amounts of rain Monday afternoon. However, we are good to go for a weekend of getting in the river! Yet again...all of our sampling sites tested safe for recreation! We are so thankful for the support of so many fabulous companies that allow us to continue this mission. The river has a remarkable way of repairing itself. Last week, we received some concerning E. coli numbers from water samples drawn at the sandbar near Riverview Park in North Augusta, South Carolina – 2,400 CFU/100 mL, more than ten times the recommended amount for recreational safety.
Yesterday was a different story.
The same spot is now safe and clean – 7 CFU/100 mL. It should be noted that the creek that feeds into it is still a little high 290 CFY/100 mL, but much better, and well within safe limits.
So, for those who were, with good reason, avoiding that stretch of the river, go ahead and jump in. The water is fine.
