The Maine Healthy Soils Program and the Knox-Lincoln Soil and Water Conservation District are teaming up to offer a free series of field days. Each workshop in the Soil Health Series will feature a different local farm. After gathering for a meal featuring locally sourced ingredients, participants will walk the fields with Matthew Boucher, Maine State Soil Scientist, to discuss opportunities and challenges in managing soil health on-site, and to provide advice and answer any questions attendees may have.

Registration is required, and space is limited. Register soon!

๐Ÿ“ข Have you heard?! The fun-gis at North Spore are offering a FREE educator workshop! ๐Ÿ„ (See what we did there? ๐Ÿ˜)

At this hands-on event, you'll learn how to integrate edible fungi into the gardens and landscapes all around you! Whether you teach science, agriculture, environmental studies, or manage a garden, this class is designed to give you practical tools and understanding you can bring directly into your curriculum. Mushrooms build soil, recycle organic matter, and help students see ecological systems in action.

Youโ€™ll Learn:

- How to grow mushrooms in beds, mulch, logs and containers
- How mushrooms improve soil, water retention, and plant health
- When and where to plant based on season and climate

Only one month left to register for the Northeast Livestock Expo Kids Day! ๐Ÿ„

A full-day field trip experience for Maine students in grades K-4, NELE Kids Day offers the opportunity to interact with 30+ agricultural exhibits. ๐ŸŒฑ This year's event will be held on Friday, May 15th at the Windsor Fairgrounds.

๐ŸšŒ Busing is reimbursed for schools within a 60 mile radius on a first come, first served basis.

Be Creative โ€” design and/or decorate a small wooden tractor representing the U.S. State in which you live or with which you identify. The goal is to receive at least one (1) decorated wooden tractor from every U.S. State. There is no limit to the number of tractors submitted - they may even set a Guinness World Record, with an added friendly competition for the State with the greatest participation!
