📢 CALLING ENGAGED BRACKEN COUNTY COMMUNITY MEMBERS 📢

The Bracken County Chamber of Commerce is seeking community-focused individuals to serve on the Board of Directors. The Board is composed of 10-12 individuals, business leaders, and elected officials who advocate for supporting local businesses, promoting community development, and engaged citizenship.

We are looking for community members who have a passion for service and advocating for the betterment of the Bracken County community.

The Bracken County Sheriff's Office invites residents to safely dispose of unused, unwanted, or expired medications during DEA National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

Unused prescription medications are often a source of misuse, theft, and accidental poisoning. Studies have shown that many people who misuse prescription drugs obtain them from family or friends, often from medicine cabinets in their own homes. Taking a few minutes to properly dispose of old medications can help protect your family, prevent substance misuse, and keep our community safer.
✅ Accepted:
• Prescription medications
• Over-the-counter medications
• Vitamins
• Pet medications
• Patches and ointments
❌ Not Accepted:
• Syringes or sharps
• Medical waste
Can't make it on Take Back Day? The Bracken County Sheriff's Office maintains a permanent prescription drug drop box year-round at the Sheriff's Office on the 2nd Floor of the Old Courthouse, providing a safe and convenient way to dispose of unwanted medications at any time.
Take a few minutes to check your medicine cabinets, drawers, purses, and nightstands. Safe disposal is free, anonymous, and no questions asked.
Together, we can help keep dangerous medications out of the wrong hands and make Bracken County a safer place to live, work, and raise a family.
