The Cricket Foundation was established to honor a remarkable young man, Blake Hadden, by fostering and promoting higher education through the funding and distribution of scholarships for student athletes who excel.

Thank you to D***s and Lauren Harbin and their beautiful boys, hole sponsors of the 9th Annual Blake Hadden Memorial.

Blake earned a scholarship to Furman. Now he is the one handing them out. He would get such a kick out of that.

The Harbins’ name goes on a tee box October 2. What it actually buys is a student in the CSRA receiving funds to help with their school, one who works as hard in the classroom as they do in competition.

𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 ---

Drew Callaghan pledged SAE South Carolina Phi with Blake in 2012 at Furman, same pledge class, same years that turn a friend into a brother.

Every single year since we started this, Drew’s name has gone up on a hole at Mount Vintage. He’s in Bluffton now, with a wife and three beautiful little girls and every reason in the world to let October slip by quietly. He never has. Not once.

That’s the part people don’t see about this tournament. It isn’t kept going by strangers. It’s kept going by the guys who knew him best and still won’t let his name go unsaid.

Nine tournaments and Bridgestone has been at every one.

Kim Hart and Bridgestone have been part of the Blake Hadden Memorial since year one, and this year she’s bringing a team back for year nine.

Tournaments don’t reach year nine on their own. They get there because people like Kim decide early that this matters, and then keep showing up. Her support is a big part of why every dollar raised here goes straight into Cricket Foundation scholarships for student-athletes who excel in the classroom and in competition.
