Every journey looks different. Every goal deserves a community.

Some members of Cohort 1 are taking their first step into project management. Others have spent years leading projects and are now pursuing the credential they put on hold as life, careers, and family took priority.

Today, we officially kicked off the inaugural PMI Augusta-Aiken Chapter PMP® & CAPM® Peer-Led Certification Readiness Cohort—12 weeks of mentorship, accountability, and growth.

Thank you to Augusta University and Augusta Prep for investing in our project professional workforce development initiative and helping make this vision a reality.

Here’s to Cohort 1. We’re excited to walk this journey with you.

Announcement!

As part of our commitment to providing a high-quality experience for our members, registration fees for our monthly chapter meetings will increase to $40 for members and $55 for non-members beginning with our August meeting.

Over the past several years, rising venue and catering costs have increased the cost of hosting each event. On average, the chapter currently subsidizes approximately $17 per attendee, with the difference covered by membership dues.

This adjustment helps narrow that gap while allowing us to continue offering quality speakers, networking opportunities, and professional development for our members.

We appreciate your understanding and continued support of PMI Augusta-Aiken. Thank you for being part of our chapter.

Great discussion at this month’s PMI Augusta-Aiken Chapter meeting with Robert Smith, Director of Cybersecurity and Risk Management at IntelliSystems.

Robert challenged us to think beyond firewalls and technology by looking at the hidden risks built into our everyday processes. Cybersecurity isn’t just an IT responsibility. It’s a project, business, and leadership responsibility. Every process, decision, and handoff has the potential to introduce risk, making it critical for project professionals to identify vulnerabilities before they become problems.

Thank you to Robert for sharing practical insights and helping us think differently about cybersecurity and risk management.

If you enjoyed this conversation, don’t miss our Professional Development Day on November 10. This year’s theme, CSRA Leadership Under Pressure: Crisis Ex*****on & Cyber Resilience, will dive even deeper into the leadership, risk, and resilience skills every project professional needs in today’s environment.

Registration is open now. We look forward to seeing you there!
