MOCO operates 24/7 PNMI group homes and supervised apartment programs for persons recovering from severe mental illness.

We also operate the LINC Peer Support Center and oversee Peer Services at Riverview Psychiatric Center. Since 1976, MOCO has assisted adults recovering from significant mental illness living in the cities and towns of Kennebec County in Central Maine. We help people meet their basic need for improving the quality of their lives by providing opportunities for safe and affordable housing, opportunities to pursue employment and education, whole health care management, care coordination and on-going assessment, personal avocation and recreation connections, and development and maintenance of natural support relationships in a community within Kennebec County

Motivational Services is a not-for-profit corporation which conforms to the rules and regulations of the IRS Code Section 501(c)(3).

The summer of 2026 went by way too fast but the MOCO 50th anniversary trip to OOB made it more memorable!

Fall is in the air as the annual MOCO visit to Lemieux’s Orchard in North Vassalboro was so much fun! The group picked apples and successfully navigated the challenging corn maze. All residents and staff were accounted for at the time of departure. 🙂

MOCO is proud to announce that we have fulfilled all requirements and achieved Silver Level LEED Green Building Standards for Commercial Heights Apartments. This was no easy task and a huge thank you to everyone who played a role to make it happen! MOCO’s Clinical and Nursing Squad enjoyed its annual team building retreat with a visit to the Windsor Fair on Wednesday. Inspired by the massage chairs, they advocated for acquiring some for the agency and creating a “Zen Den”. That request was not approved.🙂

MOCO celebrated its milestone 50th anniversary last Thursday evening at the Calumet Club in Augusta. The turnout was large and the night felt magical. MOCO residents, members, staff, colleagues, board members, and friends all joined in. The outside world seemed distant, as those in attendance were swept away for a brief and fun-filled journey back to 1976.
