Sowing the seeds of conservation!

Today was spent outdoors harvesting native Maine seeds alongside a wonderful group of individuals who share an appreciation for our natural environment!

Native plants play an essential role in supporting biodiversity, providing habitat and food for wildlife, and maintaining healthy ecosystems. Collecting native seeds responsibly is one way we can contribute to preserving and restoring these important plant communities.

It was wonderful to see such a great turnout and connect with others who share a passion for conservation and ecological restoration!

🥚 An unexpected find at Viles! 🦃

While exploring the Arboretum, we discovered this turkey egg tucked among the brush. The egg was no longer viable, but finds like this still give us a glimpse into the wildlife that calls the Arboretum home. 🌿

Sometimes the coolest signs of wildlife are the ones they leave behind. 👀🦃
