Another cat, surrendered when the family moved away, Hermes was a companion to Artemis who was adopted a couple of weeks ago. We tried to adopt them out together at first but it was clear they were not super bonded. Artemis got an opportunity first, today it was Hermes turn, he’ll love living as an only cat, he was rough on the cats he was living with.

Out of Cicero’s litter of 5, he was #3 to be adopted. Now we have #4 and #5 which completes the adoptions of the litter. Beans and Mingo went home together tonight. They were both in a carrier, just chilling, no worries in the world. Thanks Best Friends Animal Care for getting these two spayed or neutered.

Thursday evening our cutie, Cicero went to his forever home. From a litter of 5, he was the 3rd adopted. He loves to take naps, and seems he’s continuing that practice less than 24 hrs in his new home. Thanks Best Friends Animal Care for getting him neutered this week.

You recently saw two adult cats adopted into great homes, Artemis and Michi. Well there are several more adults from the same room looking for homes too. Here is a beautiful boy, Tommy. He’s from Warner Robbins, was cared for, fully vetted but not accepted at any shelters in the area. If you are interested in Tommy, stop by to meet him. He’s about 4-6 years old, quiet, loving and a sturdy boy. He’s NOT all fluff. He gets along well with other cats, loves most people and just needs a comfortable place to live. (He was in the running with Michi to go home this past Saturday)

U.C. Customs, LLC, created and installed these expanded metal doors at the CSRA Humane Society in May. They make a huge difference with the air flow across the front of the building through the dog kennels and cat room. Two years ago a similar door was made to compliment our door to the roof. It too created a nice flow of air through the cat rooms. Can’t say enough good things about Chris and his business. Always willing to help the pets. See what’s next for another collaboration to improve the esthetics of the shelter.

Chucky was picked up on the Greenway in North Augusta by one of our past adopters and running friends during a 5k (they ditched the 5k to help the cat). Chucky seemed to be talking to everyone that passed him on the trail. Chucky was brought to the Humane Society to check for a chip. Yeah! He had one, but it was for the original owner who did some TNR in Athens, then after socialization they went to the Athens Humane Society. A former retired GA politician had adopted Chucky 2 years ago then due to having to relocate recently to an assisted living facility Chucky move to N Augusta SC with the adopters son. After a very brief time Chucky found a doggy door and made a break for it. He soon found himself on the Greenway asking strangers for help to get home as he had no way of knowing how to get there. Hours of work were put into finding the person that loved Chucky and wanted him back home. Finally Chucky was reunited with his human Dad yesterday afternoon. He spent 2 weeks outside and 1 week with us.

Michi found her forever home yesterday. Michi was surrendered late last year, her awesomeness has been overlooked by too many looking for kittens. She loves everyone, is very confident, gives meaningful hugs and expects them in return. Already have positive updates, looks like she’s comfortable with her new family.

Monday night adoptions scored Artemis her forever home. She was surrendered to the shelter when her family moved to Cali and could not take her. She has a great personality, loves people and is fine with other cats once she settles in. She loves naps in small spaces too, lol
