A beloved 13-year-old cat named Annabelle has been removed from the front porch of the Columbia County Tag Office in Grovetown, GA, where she's spent over 13 years being a source of comfort and joy for visitors. She's now been moved to a stairwell with no protection from the weather, and honestly, it's heartbreaking.

For over a decade, Annabelle did nothing but sit on that porch, soak up the sun, and brighten people's days. She wasn't causing problems or bothering anyone. Then one complaint changed everything, and this senior cat was uprooted from the only home she's known. She deserves better than a cold stairwell in her final years.

If you've visited that Tag Office or just care about what happens to animals in our community, please consider signing the petition to bring Annabelle back to where she belongs. What would you want for a senior cat who's only ever known one safe, sunny spot? Anyone else think this is worth fighting for?

This older fellow, Cole was adopted from us 5-6 years ago but was surrendered back when his adopter became terminally ill. Amazingly, he went right back out, adopted by a supporter/past adopter that has a soft spot and big heart for senior doggos. He was always kept current with regards to vaccines and heartworm testing, but will visit his new Vet this week. Cole now has a big sister Beagle, Casey and big brother cat, Jai.

Our beautiful Kira was adopted today. Her awesome stripes and nubby tail were attractive but not as much as her purrsonality. She followed her new parents all over last Saturday showing them how sweet and smart she is.

Our big, handsome, Tommy was adopted Monday evening. He is FIV+ which is no big deal. He’s inside only, neutered and not a fighter. Currently he’s the only cat, but we’ll see. You know how that cat distribution system works. lol

His friends already miss him, especially Gravy.

Zoey is about 7 months old, she is very very sweet one-on-one. She is a very good walker on leash, loves to run around, and is a maniac for squeaky toys. She just wants the full attention of someone. Loves giving kisses and somewhere to run around. She has gotten so much better about play biting people, and my kids really love her, and she loves them.

She has some separation anxiety, and does get bored easily. She has gotten better about resource guarding, now she just picks up the bowl and runs with it instead of being aggressive. She doesnt get along with cats at all, but is good with other mellow dogs. She would be best in a one pet household.

She is up to date with vaccines

Time to catch up on some very recent adoptions.

Cheddar, Jet, Sprout and Princess were all selected for adoption. Big score for adult cats and black cats that are often over looked in general or in lieu of kittens. The beautiful Princess was only with us for 15 minutes before she was selected but had to wait a few days for her vetting to be completed.

Busy but very productive Saturday, a hard working group of folks from Savannah River Nuclear Solutions visited. On their “to do” list was : cleaning pet crates, pressure washing dog kennels, “refresh” a drab looking cat room and extend the duck quarters.
