Today, our Emerging Pearls took a deep dive into the heart of our mission with Mrs. Evangelist Raquel Floyd

They talked about what support means to them, how they can offer it to others, and how they wish to receive it. These middle schoolers reminded us that support looks different for everyone. Sometimes it means listening. Sometimes it means showing up. Sometimes it means

Our mission is to Support, Uplift, and Encourage. To live that out, we have to listen to the young people we serve and learn what support means to them.

Today our Mini Pearls talked about something WE ALL deal with: attitude and sassiness!

We learned that ATTITUDE stands for Actions To Teach Individuals To Use Daily Effectively. In other words, the way we respond is something we can learn and practice every day.

And these Minis? They had examples for everything! I love that they felt free to be honest, laugh, and learn together. Their voices matter, and we’re helping them use those voices with confidence and respect.

The highlight of todays session..... They reminded us that sometimes what adults call an attitude is a child trying to tell us something. So we practiced both sides: how to express ourselves clearly and how to listen.

September 19th.

Our girls did an AMAZING job engaging with our theme:

🌸 Developing Self-Respect & Building Healthy Boundaries.

We walked through real-life scenarios, participated in role-playing activities, shared our thoughts, asked questions, and learned how to recognize the importance of respecting ourselves while also respecting others.

Our girls were open, thoughtful, honest, and engaged throughout the session. Watching them find their voices, learn to confidently say “no,” understand their worth, and recognize that boundaries are a form of self-respect was truly beautiful to witness.

And of course... we broke bread together! Because mentorship is not just about the lessons we teach. It’s about creating a safe space where our girls can connect, laugh, share, build relationships, and grow together.
