Hello Hope for Augusta Family!

We have some exciting news to share with you. Our dedicated staff, Mike Rosser and Stephen Pittman, have been leaders of Hope for Augusta for more than 12 incredible years. Today, we're thrilled to announce that the Lord has called them to embark on a new journey as co-founders and co-directors of a new non-profit organization, Oaks Ministries.

Under the umbrella of Oaks Ministries, Mike and Stephen will be extending the legacy they've built with Hope for Augusta and will continue leading the New Town, Walton Oaks Adventure Center, and College for Kids programs. We are grateful for the commitment and service that Mike and Stephen have poured into our community throughout the years. Join us in praying that the Lord will bless them abundantly in this new chapter with Oaks Ministries.

Hope For Augusta will continue as a First Pres ministry and remains committed to sharing the hope of the gospel with students of downtown Augusta. We will partner with Oaks Ministries for the greatest Kingdom advancement in our urban community. We invite you to check out their website www.oaksministries.org and connect with them on Facebook Oaks Ministries .

Urban Leadership Project (ULP) is our weekly mentorship program for Middle and High School students.
Students gather with their mentors on Tuesday nights either as a large group or with their small groups.
During their time together, mentors and students dive into God's Word, hang out, eat some good food, and have fun together!
Pray for our middle and high school students as they started school this week and that they would know who God says they are and His love for them through Christ.

At New Town, Prek-5th grade students gather together on Thursday for an evening of fun, food, and God’s Word!
Students play with volunteers and friends for the first 45 minutes. Afterwards, students eat a good dinner together. After dinner, Prek-1st participates in a fun, interactive Bible lesson while 2nd through 5th grade splits into small groups based on grade and gender and participates in an engaging Bible lesson together.
It is our hope that New Town will provide a safe and welcoming environment where students can know and experience the love of Christ and become rooted in their identity in Him.

At the Walton Oaks Adventure Center, we seek to share the love of Christ with students and offer academic support and enrichment opportunities in order to help students flourish in school and in life.

At the Adventure Center, students receive homework help and participate in various activities such as Bible, Dance, Violin, Spanish, and Art Clubs.

Please pray that students would feel welcomed, loved, and safe at the Adventure Center and that they would have fun and learn much!

The Oaks Internship program exists to empower high school students to flourish in Christ through discipleship in the Word, leadership development, honing practical life skills, and serving the next generation.

As part of the Oaks Internship, a select group of high school students serve at our various programs at least five hours a week and receive discipleship in the Word and training in various life skills. Students receive a monthly stipend as well as monthly funds deposited into their savings account set up through the Health Center Credit Union of Augusta University.

Upon graduation, students have the opportunity to receive a one-to-one match of the amount they have accrued in their savings account. Students can then choose to continue saving their money or spend their savings on transportation or further education as needed.

It is our hope that, through this internship, interns will learn important leadership and life skills, be rooted in Christ, and have a plan and resources to flourish in the future.

Over the next couple of weeks we will be sharing information and ways you can be praying for our various programs.
Today we start with our summer program, College for Kids! CFK is a four-week educational summer day camp that serves almost 100 preK-8th grade students. Students eat breakfast together and then receive instruction in Math, English Language Arts, and Bible from certified teachers in the morning. After eating a good lunch, students participate in various arts, sports, and life skills activities such as Photography, Basketball, and Cooking.
After the last week of camp, students attend Camp Grace, an overnight camp located outside of Macon, GA designed specifically for students who live in an urban environment. At Camp Grace, students learn from God’s Word as well as participate in fun activities such as rock climbing, fishing, and archery.
Pray that the Lord would use all that the students learned and experienced this summer to help them flourish in Christ and in school!
