We are hiring a Projects Coordinator/HelpLine Advocate to help organize and coordinate projects aimed at helping Mainers maintain public and private health insurance coverage.

While the primary duties of this position are related to projects coordination, this position is also charged with assisting with responding to HelpLine inquiries related to applying for, enrolling in, and maintaining private and public health insurance programs and safety net programs.

This is a one-year, grant funded, full-time position with the opportunity to continue beyond one year, depending on funding.

Unregulated "health plans" aren't just misleading and dangerous; they could cost you money and cause you lots of stress. That's why they've earned the nickname "junk plans".

Unregulated plans often don’t cover the basic services, medicines, and costs that regulated health insurance plans are required to (Essential Health Benefits), so they often fall short when people need coverage most! For example, someone who buys an unregulated plan may find out that it doesn’t cover the prescription medicines or maternity care they need.

Starting January 1, 2027, MaineCare eligibility rules are changing for some adults who are between 19 and 64 years old and don't meet Social Security disability guidelines or have Medicare.

These people may need to report their work, volunteer, or school activities.

MaineCare members with full coverage can get reimbursed for the mileage they drive to and from their MaineCare-covered appointment!

Members who have a ride can request mileage reimbursement from their home to their appointment and back if they use their own car, or if a friend or family member brings them in their car.
