Update: we found plenty for our next building event, thank you everyone!

Our next fish crib building event is coming up soon, and we’re looking for wooden pallets!

If you know of anyone local who has pallets they’d like to get rid of, please let us know. We’d greatly appreciate any donations to help support the project and improve local fish habitat.

Thank you for helping out!

We have another day of Very High fire danger ahead of us today. Burning permits continue to be suspended and caution is critical. Yes, it’s cooler but we continue to have low relative humidities, wind, pine fuel moistures are at critical levels and all fuels have had multiple days to dry out. The Division of Forestry is staffing every piece of equipment, prepositioning equipment strategically and extending workdays. How has your behavior as a homeowner changed as a result of the elevated fire conditions? Check out this video (3:56) from Firewise USA for some ideas on how you can make a difference.

Fireworks Display over Lake Eau Claire!

Our annual lake fireworks display is completely funded by community donations—and the show each year depends on what was raised the year before.

In 2025, we received about $4,000 in donations, which fell well short of the $7,000 needed to put on a full show. Because of this, the Lake Association board has made the difficult decision that if we don’t raise at least $7,500 this year, there will be no fireworks display in 2027.

We know how much this tradition means to our community, and we’d love to see it continue.

If you’re able to contribute, please consider donating using the link below. Please share this message with friends and family who enjoy the fireworks and would want to help keep them going.

For years, Lake Eau Claire has always been a popular place to enjoy fireworks during the 4th of July celebration.  The fireworks have been good, but now we want to make them GREAT! With your help, we're hoping to make our fireworks show one of the best in the area. Please consider mak...

Good Morning!

While the lake slowly returns to its normal level, it’s still 8-10 inches high as of 7am. There are some large logs floating throughout the lake. Be alert if you’re in the water, some are large enough to take out a lower unit!

04/25/2026

The lake is about 2 ft high and slowly rising still. We are being told that it will likely crest soon. Be careful, there is a lot of debris in the water.

Please try to create no wake at this time.

Please be advised, the lake will likely rise due to the amount of rain we’ve received plus what Mead Lake has received. Expect the lake to rise at least 2 feet. We know some have already put docks and boats in. Be prepared.

As Wisconsin lakes wake up for spring, many property owners are busy putting in docks and preparing for summer.

But spring is also one of the most important times to protect your shoreline.

Heavy rains, snowmelt runoff, and disturbed soil can quickly lead to:
• Shoreline erosion
• Nutrient runoff feeding algae blooms
• Washed-out banks
• Poor water clarity
• Habitat loss for fish and wildlife

Simple steps like maintaining natural vegetation buffers, limiting shoreline disturbance, checking drainage paths, and avoiding unnecessary soil exposure can make a huge difference.

Healthy shorelines protect your property value—and protect the lake for everyone.

A beautiful lake starts at the shoreline.

(Update) “In just over 48 hours all the mapped roadside cleanup spots around the lake have been taken. What a fantastic response!

There’s still time to select other areas in the Town of Bridge Creek (see #15). Just message us or comment on the post and someone will connect with you for supplies!”

Earth Day Action: Volunteer with Friends of Lake Eau Claire

The Friends of Lake Eau Claire, in partnership with the Town of Bridge Creek, are sponsoring the Earth Day 2026 Roadside Cleanup once again this year. Last year, approximately 14 miles of roads and trails around Lake Eau Claire were cleared in celebration of Earth Day.

New this year - Volunteers can select a route around the lake listed below, or ANY road in the Town of Bridge Creek, to pick up trash from now until Earth Day on Wednesday, April 22, 2026!

Garbage bags and surgical gloves will be provided free of charge, and volunteers can clean their section at their convenience.

Once collected, all trash must be placed in the special bags provided and taken to the Town of Bridge Creek Recycling Center on Saturdays (7:00 AM – 12:00 noon). The special bags allow you to dispose of roadside trash for free. Trash bags should NOT be left on the roadside.

Please consider separating recyclable items from the trash. Recyclables such as plastic bottles, glass, paper, cardboard, and metal cans may be combined and taken to the Recycling Center at no charge and do not need to be placed in the special bags.

Pick your section from the list below or any road in the Town of Bridge Creek. Comment on this post or send a PM to tell us where you plan to go and how we can connect with you for supplies. We will supply free garbage bags and gloves. Be sure to wear highly visible clothing. See you out there!
