Once we find the true JOY of sobriety, we are called to LOVE OTHERS enough to warn them of the consequences of continued addiction.

When God sent Jonah to Nineveh, his mission was to warn the people about the severe consequences for their disobedience. God wanted them to know that his judgment was near, but that they still had … Continue reading We Have a Biblical Responsibility to Warn Others

So good to remember!!!

Rivers of pain and persecution will never extinguish this flame. Endless floods will be unable to quench this raging fire that burns within you. Everything will be consumed. It will stop at nothing as you yield everything to this furious fire until it won’t even seem to you like a sacrifice anymor...

I’m sure we’ve all been affected either directly or indirectly by the disease of addiction (drugs, alcohol, gambling, etc). Often times the person IN addiction gains all the attention. However, the RIPPLE EFFECT it leaves behind affects more than just the addict or alcoholic. These are the “shadow people” (family and friends) who don’t understand the disease, and don’t know how to deal with it.

“The Farm” at Kings Creek offers hope to the families affected by addiction.

First, Interventions aren’t just for the addict. In fact, it’s often sheer madness trying to get that person to even show up for an intervention, much less listen to the plea to get help. Interventions are also for the family members trying to figure out what to do and where to go to find help.

These interventions provide information on: 1) What the disease of addiction really is (Hint: its a mental disease like Alzheimer’s or Schizophrenia); 2) Why the family or friends are usually a HUGE part of the problem (denial) and reason the disease persists (“Enablers” - which isn’t meant to be derogatory); and 3) The hard facts that 80% of addicts and alcoholics relapse - not a positive number! Only 20% of addicts and alcoholics remain sober and that comes from ONE thing: ACCOUNTABILITY. Random drug and alcohol testing for a minimum of 5 years has been shown to be the MOST EFFECTIVE means of keeping someone sober. There really is no other way to be sure and also be held accountable.

The Charity also provides support and scholarships for the families after a loved one goes to rehab for 90 days. Often the bread winner of the family goes away, and the family is left to deal with the aftermath and financial difficulties that ensue.

The Charity can also provide safe houses for families who fear for their safety.

Lastly, the Charity provides a unique aftercare facility and grounds for families to reunite after rehab. That’s where the TRUE HEALING can begin.

I’m thankful for everyone associated with the Charity. This is Kingdom Work at the most heartfelt level. ✝️

Located in rural Crawfordville, GA, The Farm is a Biblically based 501(c)3 non profit that seeks to help families affected by drug and alcohol addiction. Through sales of online and offline coupons from local merchants (known as our “Purpose Driven Partners”), as well as through various local fundraisers, “The Farm” awards several types of scholarships to families affected by the disease of addiction. Scholarships are awarded to families for drug and alcohol interventions, 90 day financial assistance while the main bread winner of the family is in rehab, and scholarships to The Hale House and The Hope House of Augusta. The Farm at Kings Creek is also the Official Sponsor of the Golden Harvest Benefactors Dinner that helps raise funds for The Masters Table Soup Kitchen located in downtown Augusta, Ga. Upon request The Farm at Kings Creek also offers facilities for interventions, a temporary safe house (when needed), and a rural setting for families to visit and reconnect after rehab. That’s TRULY when the healing begins.

“When one saw that he was healed, he came back, praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked Him.” – Luke 17:15
