This year’s tribute was a success. We’ll be back next year fundraising and organizing volunteers.

We placed 1000 roses on graves this morning for this year’s Memorial Day Flowers tribute at Fort Custer National Cemetery.

Memorial Day Flowers – Fort Custer National Cemetery 2022 will take place on Sunday, May 29th. This year will begin a little differently as we will be distributing roses to volunteers offsite. Players Grill in Augusta, MI has generously given us permission to hand out roses in their parking lot at 506 E. Michigan Ave., Augusta, MI. From there, volunteers will take them to the cemetery to place on graves. We will begin giving flowers to volunteers at 8:00am.

Roses will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. In the event we have more volunteers than buckets of roses, we highly encourage those with roses to share with others who want to help place flowers on graves.

When placing a rose near a flat grave marker, please place the flower in the grass above the marker with the head of the flower on the left. When placing a rose near an upright headstone, please place the flower in the grass in front of the stone with the head of the flower on the left. Please DO NOT place a rose directly on a marker as it may stain the stone.

We will begin placing roses in sections 1, 2, and 3. From there we will work our way southwest toward sections K and T, placing roses on all the graves along the way. If there are still roses remaining, we will work our way across the street to sections H, J, and L. When empty, flower buckets shall be placed near the section F marker.

We are getting close to Memorial Day and will soon be placing roses on graves at Fort Custer National Cemetery.

We are seeking volunteers with fundraising experience to assist us in raising money to place a rose on every grave at Fort Custer National Cemetery for Memorial Day.

This year, proceeds are going to Victory for Veterans to help prevent veteran su***de. Companies and individuals will make their donations to the Memorial Day Flowers Foundation on the MDFF website. No money will be collected directly by volunteers.

We've had a pleasant change of plans for Memorial Day at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Plumeria Botanical Boutique will be placing 3,375 roses on graves at Fort Custer National Cemetery this Memorial Day.

These flowers have been purchased by Plumeria and will be distributed by their staff. Anyone wishing to donate to help offset the cost of the flowers may do so using the link below.

The National Cemetery Association has cancelled the official Memorial Day Ceremony at Fort Custer National Cemetery this year. Due to COVID-19 and the NCA's cancellation, we (Plumeria Botanical Boutique)have chosen not to fundraise this year.

Keeping pace with last year's event, the owners of Plumeria will be providing 1000 roses and placing them on graves to keep the event alive. We encourage everyone to stay engaged with this page and plan to help us do amazing things in 2022. Our goal is to lay a rose on every grave in the cemetery. With your help we know anything is possible!
