Overcoming adversity and turning obstacles into stepping stones is the expertise of author, speaker, and philanthropist, Yannik McKie. At age 11 Yannik suffered the heartbreak of his parents’ divorce and learned that both Mom and Dad were HIV positive. By the age of 15 Yannik lost both of his parents to the deadly AIDS disease. Consequently, in an effort to deal with his pain, Yannik turned to dru

gs, gangs and dangerous illegal activity. Turning such pain into purpose has helped Yannik earn his reputation as an expert on leadership and perseverance. Yannik’s amazing life story has been featured on numerous media outlets including ESPN, The 700 Club, The Huffington Post, The New York Daily News, Good Day Atlanta, and many more. Yannik is the Founder and Executive Director of the McKie Foundation through which he donates his time and resources to at-risk youth. For his efforts in youth leadership & business, Yannik was awarded the Change Maker of the year award from the National Leadership Council and he was inducted into his alma mater, Georgia Southern University’s, top 40 under 40 alumni class. Yannik’s diverse life experiences make him a highly sought after speaker for universities, businesses and nonprofit organizations. Yannik has a degree in marketing from Georgia Southern University and a Master’s Degree in Christian Ministries from Liberty University. Yannik is the proud husband to his beautiful & supportive wife, Linda and the loving father to Jahlyn & Elyse McKie.

From welcoming guests and offering prayer, to sharing resources, preparing meals, and meeting practical needs, our volunteers are the heartbeat of what we do at Living In Purpose.

What makes this work special isn't just the tasks being completed it's the love, compassion, and purpose behind them. Every conversation, every act of service, and every helping hand reflects our mission to impact lives and strengthen our community.

We’ll be hosting our first Golden Harvest & Grind tomorrow at 11 AM as we continue serving and loving on our community through outreach, fellowship, and support.

If you signed up to volunteer and have NOT completed your paperwork yet, please arrive by 9 AM so we can get everything taken care of before we begin.

This Saturday, we’re rolling out the red carpet for our community. ❤️

We believe every person deserves dignity, love, and to know they matter.

For the Season of Drought Red Carpet Premiere, we’ll be serving 10 unhoused individuals with a full day of care including showers, haircuts, clothing, food, transportation, goodie bags, and fellowship before attending the documentary premiere together.

This is more than an event.
This is what compassion looks like in action.

One Friday.
One community coming together with one purpose. ❤️

What happened during Impact Week was bigger than serving food.
It was people showing up for each other. It was families being loved on, conversations being had, kids smiling, and a community feeling seen.

And the craziest part?
This is just a glimpse of what’s possible.

Imagine what could happen with a fully renovated Purpose Center, a space where we can consistently feed families, mentor youth, create opportunities, and pour into our community every single week of the year.

We’re not just renovating a building.
We’re building a place where purpose, hope, and impact can continue to grow.
