Helping youth take their problems and turn it into purpose!

Overcoming adversity and turning obstacles into stepping stones is the expertise of author, speaker, and philanthropist, Yannik McKie. At age 11 Yannik suffered the heartbreak of his parents’ divorce and learned that both Mom and Dad were HIV positive. By the age of 15 Yannik lost both of his parents to the deadly AIDS disease. Consequently, in an effort to deal with his pain, Yannik turned to drugs, gangs and dangerous illegal activity. Turning such pain into purpose has helped Yannik earn his reputation as an expert on leadership and perseverance. Yannik’s amazing life story has been featured on numerous media outlets including ESPN, The 700 Club, The Huffington Post, The New York Daily News, Good Day Atlanta, and many more. Yannik is the Founder and Executive Director of the McKie Foundation through which he donates his time and resources to at-risk youth. For his efforts in youth leadership & business, Yannik was awarded the Change Maker of the year award from the National Leadership Council and he was inducted into his alma mater, Georgia Southern University’s, top 40 under 40 alumni class. Yannik’s diverse life experiences make him a highly sought after speaker for universities, businesses and nonprofit organizations. Yannik has a degree in marketing from Georgia Southern University and a Master’s Degree in Christian Ministries from Liberty University. Yannik is the proud husband to his beautiful & supportive wife, Linda and the loving father to Jahlyn & Elyse McKie.

Every young man deserves opportunities to try something new with people who believe in him.

Our M.I.T. (Men In Training) experience at the Pointe West Confidence Course brought that mission to life through climbing, navigating obstacles, and working together.

With mentors alongside them, our young men had opportunities to practice courage, build trust, and encourage one another through each challenge.

These experiences help prepare them to approach everyday challenges with confidence and lead with purpose.

Thank you to the mentors who show up, offer guidance, and invest in our young men. Your presence matters!

Lace up and bring your energy M.I.T. Turkey Bowl 2026 is coming! 🏈

Living In Purpose invites our young men to an afternoon of flag football, friendly competition, and connection through M.I.T. (Men In Training).

From sharing the ball to encouraging a teammate, the field offers opportunities to practice teamwork, respect, and leadership. We’re excited to see our young men have fun together while building friendships and supporting one another.

New beginnings deserve a community cheering them on!

Our Thrive family celebrated two women taking a meaningful step in their walk with Jesus through baptism. The smiles, applause, and baptism certificates made this a moment to remember!

Through Living In Purpose, we carry CHOSEN’s heart for serving people beyond the church walls. Thrive is part of that mission, providing meals, practical care, worship, and connection for neighbors experiencing homelessness and hardship. It’s a place where people can find support, build relationships, and grow in faith.

Seeing these women surrounded by encouragement reminds us why showing up for our community matters. We’re grateful to share in this milestone and continue walking alongside them.

Thank you to every volunteer and supporter who helps us serve with love and care.

Mentoring is more than one good conversation. It is showing up consistently enough for trust to grow.

Young people need spaces where they are known by name, heard without judgment, encouraged through challenges, and reminded of the purpose God placed inside them.

That is why mentoring space matters.

At the Living In Purpose Center, shared meals, new experiences, honest conversations, guidance, and everyday moments create opportunities for meaningful relationships to develop. When young people feel safe, seen, and supported, they gain the confidence to learn, lead, and grow.

The right space creates belonging and belonging can change the direction of a young person’s life.

Bring the kids, invite a friend, and make plans for Youth Takeover at CHOSEN!

On Saturday, October 31, we’re coming together for an evening of youth connection, worship, and family fun. LIP family, let’s fill the room with encouragement as our young people take the lead!

Youth Kickback: 4:30-5:30 PM
For 6th-12th graders
Youth Takeover Service: Starts at 6:00 PM

CHOSEN Kids: Treats & Eats: Immediately after service
Nursery opens: 5:45 PM
Kid-friendly costumes are welcome!

Help us prepare for the celebration by donating candy, treat bags, or party favors for all ages. All donations are needed by October 24.

Our young men are gathering for the M.I.T. Personal Growth experience an afternoon focused on building confidence, strengthening healthy habits, and learning how to make a lasting first impression.

From personal hygiene and oral care to grooming and self-care, participants will gain practical tools that can help them show up prepared and confident wherever life takes them.

On Saturday, October 31, let’s come together at CHOSEN for Youth Takeover and support our young people as they connect, worship, and lead!

The evening includes:

Youth Kickback: 4:30–5:30 PM for 6th–12th graders

That's what Blueprint is all about.

At our next experience, young women ages 13-19 will learn how to navigate Money Decisions in Real Life from understanding needs and wants to thinking through trade-offs and making thoughtful financial choices.

And they'll leave with something they created themselves a personalized money pouch to remind them to plan, save, spend wisely, invest, and grow. 💰

Every young man needs a team that cheers him on. 🏈

At Living In Purpose, we’re building those connections through M.I.T. (Men In Training) and our Turkey Bowl 2026 is another opportunity to get involved!

Join us for an afternoon of flag football, friendly competition, and community. As our young men work together, encourage their teammates, and celebrate each other’s efforts, they’ll practice habits that matter long after the game ends.
