It's Labor Day! Anyone else take that to mean this is the day to DO the labor of cleaning out garages, basements, and attics? 🙋🏻‍♀️

Well if you've happened to find some items you no longer want or need, would like to keep those items out of the trash, and maybe make some money in the meantime, please consider joining our fall townwide yard sale in just under 2 weeks.

Saturday, September 19th from 8am-2pm with a rain date of Sunday if needed.

You can sign up at the Municipal building (606 W Nicholson Rd) during their business hours up through 3:30pm on Thursday, 9/17, or sign up online up through 8am the morning of the sale. You do need to sign up by 3pm Friday the 18th to make it onto the printable list and Google map that we publish on Friday evening. Sellers: remember that you are welcome to post your address and descriptions of any items you'll have for sale on the site www.Townwideyardsale.com Shoppers: Check out what people will have in advance to help direct you on sale day, and check out what Mt. Ephraim sellers will have available for their townwide the following weekend as well!

The permit fee to participate is $10 and goes directly to Audubon Civic REACH, the umbrella organization that supports us here at ACC, Sustainable Audubon Green Team, Audubon Historical Society, Audubon Young at Heart senior social club, and Audubon Recreation Committee which operates the Audubon Hockey League amongst other recreation pursuits. There is an option to reserve a yard sign for a $5 deposit which will be reimbursed upon return of the sign.

A cool find at the Audubon Historical Society Museum yesterday... pages from the 1916 Parade Programme! We've known that our town traditions have been in place for a long time, but it was really fascinating to see confirmation of this from 110 years ago!

Athletic Events have had some changes over the years - some races added (backwards, wheelbarrow, frog jump) and some removed (Fat Men's Races???), but all-in-all the same spirit involved! (A HUGE thank you to Kelli Aceto and her team of volunteers for choosing to continue this tradition yesterday despite the extreme heat! And to the crowd of you that came out to participate!)

We've heard a lot of people comment that the parade used to go on Merchant St but how many realized just how far the parade used to travel?? 😯 This doesn't say where on Merchant the parade starts so we guessed at WHP, and then switched Chestnut and E Atlantic for obvious reasons, but this seems to clock in at more than 3 miles! Audubon runners - try this route and let us know how long it is!

When it comes to the question of how many people it takes to pull off our 4th of July events, the number is going to vary but man are we jealous of the committee of 24+ people that did it in 1916!!

Many thanks to all who contributed to our town's July 4th celebration this year through participation in our House Decorating contest and Independence Day parade! We live-streamed the announcement of winners at the conclusion of the Audubon Historical Society Museum's open house yesterday, but here's the full list as well. Trophies will be delivered to those who were not in attendance at the event.

Best Non-Participating home??? Why would we give an award for that? Well, as ACC was discussing our events for this year we spoke about how we wished more homes in town would participate in our house decorating contests. We thought this award could help inspire the winner (and hopefully others) that they should join the contest in the future! Well... after ordering the trophies we ended up having 23 houses register.. at least 3 times our normal average. We hope that momentum will continue for our Halloween and Winter Holiday contests as well!

Thank you also to our judges! We know this was no easy task!

Parade and house decorating awards announced immediately following the open house!

The borough dedicated its opening at a ribbon-cutting ceremony with local and county dignitaries Wednesday. Exhibits will be open to the public at an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. July 4.
