Thank you, Free Public Library of Audubon for helping promote the 4th of July bicycle parade through your bike decorating event! The library will have a sign-up sheet for anyone that wishes to register for the parade. Online registration closes on July 1st so this is a great opportunity for those who needed a little more time to decide.

Please reach out to the library if you have any questions about this event.

If you're ready to sign up for the bicycle parade now, please use this link: https://www.auduboncivicreach.org/bicycle-parade-entry

Hi everyone, ACC is in need of some additional volunteers, this time for the 4th of July parade. Please comment here if you are interested, or you can fill out the form at https://www.auduboncivicreach.org/volunteer-registration

Also, if your business/organization will be in the parade and could place a sponsor banner on the front or back of one of your vehicles (in the event we can't get enough banner carriers), please let me know (I'll also be asking our performers).

• Parade Banner Carriers - July 4th, 7:30 am to ~10:00 am. We have four 6-foot banners for our sponsors and we need two people per banner to walk with them in the parade. You will be positioned in front of one of the bands. The parade route is approximately 2 miles and takes about an hour to walk, depending on the pace of everyone in front of you! Eight needed. (a single person can carry a banner in a pinch but it's less comfortable)

• Parade Street Captains - July 4th, 7:20am to 8:30 am. You will be responsible for getting one section of the parade lined up in the correct order on one of the side streets off of Amherst Road in the morning. You need to be comfortable giving directions to others. May require occasional loud voices. Six required (2 currently confirmed).

• Parade Marshalls - July 4th, 7:45am to ~10:00am. You will be positioned along the parade route to act as assistants to anyone in the parade who requires it, to help keep the parade moving, and to help direct participants. Six needed. (this can be from the spot you would be set up to watch the parade regardless - essentially just jumping in if there's a need and/or calling the contact number provided for larger issues)

• Parade Guide (Babies/Bikes, mid-point) - July 4th, 8:30 am to 10:00am. You will meet with the Baby Parade and Bicycle Parade participants joining at the High School, give them their numbers, and walk with the Baby Parade participants past the Judges. One needed. (parents of participants welcome)

• Parade Guide (Babies/Bikes, full route) - July 4th, 7:30 am to 10:00am. You will meet with the Baby Parade and Bicycle Parade participants joining at the start of the parade, give them their numbers, and ride the entire route with the Bicycle Parade participants. You will be responsible for assisting the riders past the Judges in an orderly manner. One needed. (parents of participants welcome)

• Driver for Grand Marshal - July 4th, 7:30am to ~9:30am. We are looking for someone with a convertible who would be willing to drive our Grand Marshal near the front of the parade. Please note that we will have magnets with Grand Marshal title and name to place on the doors of the vehicle. (this one isn't on our volunteer form- please just reach out to me directly)

Thank you!!!!

Parade Participation

Our 4th of July parade is great every year because of the involvement by people in our town! It's so great to see everyone coming together in community, cheering on friends and neighbors.

Several years ago, ACC switched to online registration for the parade because this allows us to have everyone's contact information in the same place, and to know how many vehicles are planned for our lineup purposes.

So far the groups that have registered are:

Knights of Columbus

New Creation Church

Murray-Troutt American Legion Auxiliary Unit 262

Murray-Troutt American Legion Post 262

Audubon Lions Club

Audubon Peer to Peer Aid

Community Rocks

Audubon United Methodist Church

Audubon High School Cheerleading

Wrigleys tree service

Audubon Indoor Girls Track

I have also made contact with Audubon Board of Ed and Audubon Rec Softball, and will be reaching out to the Scouts shortly. If you are part of a group that would like to participate, please register with this link: https://www.auduboncivicreach.org/independence-day

Also, if anyone has contact info for some of our past participants - Audubon Wrestling, Little League, Audubon Soccer, Cougars football, Cats Cheerleading, please message me or you can send the registration link to them.

Thank you!!

July 4 program books have arrived and some amazing volunteers from town will be delivering them within about the next week, so keep your eye out for those! Please note that apartment complexes will not be receiving them right away - we have to coordinate with residents to get access to the buildings in some cases. If you have not received a book by Father's Day, please let us know and we'll try to provide an update for your section of town.

The parade is just 3 weeks away! Please remember to register your family, community group, school group, etc if you would like to participate! Links for parade and house decorating contest registration are available here: https://www.auduboncivicreach.org/independence-day

Registration is now open for the parade and house decorating contests.

We are also in search of volunteers for July 4 program book distribution (around June 20-27), house decorating judges, parade specific tasks, and for the athletic events.

All information is available at https://www.auduboncivicreach.org/independence-day

Celebration Committee members will be coming around to collect yard signs starting today, and continuing into tomorrow most likely. Please leave your sign and H-stand in an accessible location at the front of your house. We will be reusing these signs in the fall. Thank you!

We hope you had a positive experience with the yard sale today! The weather certainly blessed us!

The official Yard Sale list is now complete. We have 160 households participating (and likely a few more joining prior to 8am tomorrow)!!

You can also find this list on our website, along with a link to the Google map that you can use to navigate around town in real time.

https://www.auduboncivicreach.org/yard-sale-map for the printable list and Google Map link.

Additionally, so far 23 homes have entered items they plan to sell on the new website, www.TownWideYardSale.com If you create an account, you can favorite particular items and addresses, but you can also use the website as a "guest."

PLEASE watch closely for stop signs and the potential for people jay walking when driving around town tomorrow. No yard sale purchase is worth an accident or injury!

While you're out, also stop by Mount Ephraim for another 50 or so homes! See Ephraim Celebration Committee for a list of homes.
