Morgan Heckler Foundation is being established to celebrate the spirit of our son, friend, and teammate, who lost his life as a result of fentanyl poisoning. In his 22 years, Morgan touched the lives of many through his kindness and generosity, and it is our objective to encourage and enable people aspiring to fully embrace life, just as he did. Morgan Heckler Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization registered in Pennsylvania.

Naloxone is saving more lives than ever before.

Each year, thousands of people survive opioid overdoses because naloxone is widely available to first responders and communities. Check out the rising impact:

2015: ~3,000–6,000 lives saved
2016: ~5,000–8,000
2017: ~8,000–12,000
2018: ~12,000–18,000
2019: ~20,000
2020: ~75,000 (EMS-reported naloxone administrations)
2021: ~74,000 (EMS-reported naloxone administrations)
2022: ~74,000 (EMS-reported naloxone administrations)
2023: 75,000–85,000 (estimate)
2024: 85,000+ (estimate as of mid-year)

With expanded community outreach and access, naloxone continues to make a real difference in preventing overdose deaths.

We're delighted to finally share some wonderful news! Earlier this year on May 28th, the Edward Morgan Heckler Foundation awarded the 2025 Edward Morgan Heckler Memorial Award to an outstanding student, Tommy Kratz.

Tommy received this year's scholarship of $3,532, a special tribute to Morgan's number on the MHS baseball team. Tommy also played baseball at MHS and is set to begin his next chapter at Saint Joseph's University this fall.

Though our announcement comes a bit later than planned, our excitement for Tommy’s achievements and the positive impact he’s making is as heartfelt as ever. The Edward Morgan Heckler Foundation honors students who truly embody Morgan's spirit: embracing life, meeting challenges with resilience, and uplifting their communities. Tommy is a shining example of these ideals, and we can't wait to see all the ways he'll make a difference moving forward.

Please join us in cheering for Tommy and honoring young people who continue to live with purpose, passion, and heart. Just as Morgan did.

There should be frequent age appropriate conversations about drug use. Educate them about what types of drugs there are and the effect they have on the body. Explain to them what Narcan is/does.

Families that openly talk to their kids about drugs can protect their children from many of the high-risk behaviors associated with using drugs.

August 21 is Fentanyl Prevention and Awareness day. This is a coordinated day of response by fentanyl awareness organizations and families impacted by fentanyl to educate the public about the dangers of illicit fentanyl. The EMH Foundation has a mission to spread awareness about the dangers of fentanyl poisoning.

It’s important to educate yourselves on the signs of fentanyl poisoning, how to use Narcan and test strips, and always remember if you seek help on behalf of a drug overdose victim, medical amnesty laws will keep you and the victim safe.

The Final Gold Medal Award Of The 2024 Olympics

As the 2024 Paris Olympics drew to a close, the final gold medal is awarded to NBC and its affiliates and especially EMERGENT for producing and broadcasting its “You Have The Power To Save A Life.” commercial highlighting Narcan during the games of the ###III Olympiad.

While the Olympics are a regular gathering of world class athletes in peak physical condition prepared to compete at the highest level, the Narcan commercial provides a powerful and necessary reminder of the dangers of fentanyl poisoning and the reminder we can save lives.

The E. Morgan Heckler Foundation is united to stop fentanyl poisoning and save lives through community engagement, education, and empowering individuals to protect themselves and the ones you love. The foundation salutes and extends its gratitude to EMERGENT for channeling its message during the Olympic games.

We want to extend a huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out to participate, all of our donors, and all of our supporters in our 2nd annual E. Morgan Heckler Foundation Pub Crawl and Scavenger Hunt! We also want to say a huge thanks to all the amazing Phoenixville businesses that participated in this event. We appreciate you!

Further, another huge thanks to Logan () for bringing the tunes throughout the day and for getting our spirits raised! 🎸

This event was another huge success and we could not be happier with the turn out! With 217 participants and $16,006 raised, we can only imagine what year 3 will look like.
