Ties and Tails Gala Ties and Tails Gala raises money in support of the Patient Emergency Treatment (P.E.T) Fund at Auburn.

DVM students, faculty, and staff join us for a night of live entertainment, drinks, dancing, and celebrating collegiality together!

(2/2): Honoring our last PET Fund recipient, Naia 💛

Naia, a 10 month old intact female Maltese, was presented for signs of vomiting. She was diagnosed with foreign body obstruction. Her owner had previously had a medical emergency and traveled to the USA to seek medical help. Naia got sick while they were here. She was not able to cover the fees for surgery and hospitalization for Naia. Surgery was performed thanks to the help of the PET Fund, and 15 elastic bands were retrieved from her intestine. Naia did well the next day and was able to go home and support her mom through her own journey.

(1/2): Honoring our next PET Fund recipient, Olive 💛

Baby Olive is a 9 year old Chihuahua that was diagnosed with IMHA, a condition where the red blood cells get destroyed and the dog becomes anemic. While waiting for the medications to start working, she had several crises due to her anemia. After the third blood transfusion, she was looking better, and her very dedicated owner was out of money. She then had another crisis and needed one more transfusion - this is where the PET Fund stepped up to cover the cost. The last transfusion got her over the hump, and her medications started working. After this, she was able to go home! Her owners are very grateful for the PET Fund!

Honoring our next 2025 PET Fund Recipient, Peaches 💛

Peaches is a 7-year-old FS retriever who came to us after a few weeks of lethargy and weight loss. She had never been sick before! On presentation, she was very dehydrated and underweight. She was diagnosed with diabetes and a severe urinary tract infection that had spread and caused a kidney abscess. The only possible treatment was surgery—a major and risky procedure. Thankfully, she survived and recovered well from anesthesia. Unfortunately, everything she went through left her very weak, and she lost a significant amount of muscle. As a result, she was no longer able to walk or support her body on her own. Her dedicated owner never gave up, and together we started intensive physiotherapy, working to teach Peaches how to walk again. Each day she showed small but steady improvements. However, this long journey became financially overwhelming for her owner. Thanks to support from our PetFund, which helped cover her medical bills, Peaches has been able to continue her recovery.

Honoring another 2025 PET Fund recipient 💛

Saveen is a sweet and beautiful female German Shepard dog that was recently brought to Auburn University Veterinary Hospital for suspected heat stroke. She was rescued a couple of years back and loves hanging out with her newfound family on the porch every morning. Sadly, Saveen left home for about 2 days, and her owners found her whimpering under their house. She was brought to us immediately for further assessment. When she arrived, she was overheated and in a critical condition - but thanks to emergency care and the support of donors like you, we were able to stabilize her and continue with medical management. Cases like Saveen’s remind us how urgent and lifesaving timely intervention can be, especially during extreme weather. Your continued generosity allows us to provide intensive treatment, cooling therapies, and supportive care to dogs in crisis. Thank you for helping give Saveen—and so many others—a fighting chance!
